Mine is a 23 hybrid. I did add the tow hitch since I do tow my 5.5x8 aluminum trailer regularly.
Didn't add the 4K package. Just didn't see any need for it.
I don't tow more than 2000-2500 lbs. On the rare occasion that I might have to tow a higher load I would probably figure out borrowing someone's F150.
Saving the package cost and gas mileage seemed smarter for me.
The 4k package wasn’t available for your model year hybrid.

Waste of money! Forced to buy extra copilot package too. Almost $2k of mediocre features, get the FX4!
Not discounting some of the features and advantages FX4 has, it fails miserably for increased towing from standard 2000lbs max.

I disagree that the 4k tow package is mediocre features. The transmission cooler, spare tire, brake controller, 7 pin connector and job 2 backup assist, hitch assist just to name a few. Besides I think the biggest advantage is the different gear ratio that I didn't see for 25 listed. So I googled the response from that search.

360 co-pilot also a big plus which you have not considered the benefits. Also both the brake controller and 7 pin connector making it legal to tow over 2000lbs. Many states require trailer brakes at towing 3000lbs or more.

Yes, the 2025 Ford Maverick has a different gear ratio when equipped with the 4K Tow Package, featuring a lower axle gear ratio compared to the standard model, typically going from a 3.63:1 ratio to a 3.81:1 ratio, allowing for better towing capability;.

Key points about the 4K tow package gear ratio:
  • Lower gear ratio:
The tow package includes a lower axle gear ratio, which provides more torque for towing heavier loads.

  • Improved towing capacity:
This lower gear ratio significantly increases the Maverick's towing capacity.

  • Other features:
Besides the gear ratio change, the 4K tow package also includes a transmission oil cooler, upgraded radiator, and trailer brake controller.

Gear ratio=worse mileage. The fx4 has its own set of improvements, not writing them out here because I don't care to do so. I reject most of the people on this form who preach about lariats, 4k tow, and hybrids. Those are all stupid wastes of money in my mind. I'm getting an xlt luxury fx4 for under 35k and calling it a day! This car will be 21 years newer than my current car, and SOMEHOW I never got in an accident without the magic copilot. Waste. Of. Money!

Nothing's a waste unless you do not get a value from it. If you are going to tow over 2000lbs or may in the future it behooves someone to consider it's value.

I have both the FX4 and the 4K Tow package both ordered for separate reasons. I don't dish someone who orders, lariats or hybrids or those not ordering 4 k tow package. I do try to bring it to there attention that change happens in life. Sometimes wants sometimes needs and like was posted I would rather have something than need it and not have it. Also the trans cooler, co-pilot 360 and the different gear ratio will be used even if you never use the truck for towing.

I think they should just call it the "tow package" to be honest. I think it's worth it marketing-wise. Yeah, it might be able to tow 2k standard, but that's nothing these days. They can call it "tow package" and market it as "enhanced cooling and gearing to enable towing up to 4000 lbs*"

* Without tow package, vehicle should not be used to tow greater than 2000 lbs

Interesting, but the 2025 different gear ratio when equipped with the 4K Tow Package is also applied to the Hybrid AWD? Where can I find the info?

That I wouldn't know. Just if you think you might tow over 2000lbs I think anyone should highly consider and I highly recommend the 4k tow package.

All the more reason not to buy a hybrid! Takes you about ~35k miles to recoup the extra money to get a hybrid AWD in fuel costs anyway.
uh. the price difference (according to ford.com right now) is $575. it is not going to take you 35k miles to recoup that cost.

No. The price difference between a Hybrid AWD and an EB AWD according to ford.com is $1645. $575 is the difference in price between a EB FWD and EB AWD. The price difference between a Hybrid FWD and Hybrid AWD is $2220

XL Hybrid w/AWD: $31,505
XL EB w/AWD: $29,860
Difference: $1645

Google "AI" is wrong.

THERE IS NO GEAR DIFFERENCE BECAUSE THERE ARE NO GEARS

This thread is about the 2025 hybrid Maverick. Hence, same fuel economy on 4K package.
