Clean your windshield, not just wipe it down with a paper towel and Windex. Use a clay bar with lubricant and get all of that road and environmental gunk off of the glass then apply a nice coat of a wax type of your choice or water repellent. I use Chemical Guys Hybrid wax and seldom have to use my wipers due to rain/water run off.

The video was taken during a rain event. The windshield is plenty wet. I'm reading through the responses in your link.
But the windshield is dry when the wipers come back down on the bottom edge there. You can see it.

I ended up just putting RainX on the windshield and not using wipers unless absolutely needed.
My go-to on every vehicle. I've found extremely positive results on the road including the infamous pop-up showers in Florida where you go from sunshine to torrential rain and back to sunshine in under 2 miles.

The shower had just ended. I was driving when the rain was steady but I couldn't stop right there to take a video. I waited until I got home and parked. By then the shower has stopped. The wipers were chattering the whole time. Are you here to debate or offer ideas?

Why be such a dick? You're the one who posted a video of a dry windshield. Good luck in life buddy!

Yeah. I've started buying the stuff in the small bottle as it's much more cost effective vs the spray bottle. If kept up, it only needs applying every couple months and I don't even need to use wipers.

Replace them with 100% silicone blades and you'll have quiet wipers for years. I haven't had any issues (yet) with the stock blades on my Mav, but as soon as they start wearing out I'll be getting silicone replacements. I had PIAA brand ones on my Nissan Frontier and they lasted about 7 years before I sold the truck, 100% quiet the entire time.
^ This.

Buy PIAA wipers and you'll never buy anything else again. I've had pairs of them last 10+ years. Many times in the rain I don't have to turn them on, because they leave a hydrophobic layer of silicone that acts like Rain-X, but doesn't have to be re-applied. It makes the windshield easier to clean too.

On all of my new vehicles, I always replace the OEMs wipers with Bosch Icons. At every refueling, I use the free wash fluid and squigy and meticulously clean the windshield and each wiper blade ensuring I get both sides of the blade. And then towel off each blade. Its always suprising how much crud builds up on them between fuel ups - that shows up on the towel or squigy sponge from just the blades.

In my experience, this method cleans any bugs, oil, dirt, tree sap, etc from the glass and wiper. I get 5 years or better out of my blades without any streaking, skipping, or chattering. Several of my vehicles sit outside in the sun, under trees (sap, leaves, acorns, bird poo), and in all weather conditions. I typically end up replacong them (just the blade rubber - which can be found on Amazon) due to tears from ice and or snow removal than anything else.

My Mav sits out in the weather in central Florida always, and after 2+ years, I was thinking how good the factory blades have held up.
I do use RainX washer fluid, I don't know if that helps, but my blades are going strong.

If the windshield or wiper blades have gotten wax on them the blades will judder. My first wife waxed the windshield on a car many years ago thinking she was doing me a favor - that was not a fun drive the first time it rained.

You can try to clean the blades with alcohol. Clean the glass with Dawn dish soap (which will strip the wax off of your paint too, so be careful).

Everyone else has responded with a much appreciated variety of products and processes. You are the only one who responded with suspicion about the scenario.

It WAS RAINING and there were raindrops on the windshield! You may think it was dry but it wasn't. You weren't there to see the chattering even when it was raining harder.

Thanks. I got got the truck new from the dealer about three months ago. Unless the dealer waxed the windshield (highly unlikely), I haven't done a thing to it myself.

I'll avoid the back and forth drama and just give facts that may help. When I got my 2023 Maverick the driver side wiper chattered like that from the beginning. After about 6 months of ownership I had enough of it and put on two new Bosch wipers and the problem was resolved.

My wife has a 2025 Highlander and both her wipers started chattering after just a year of of owning the car so I changed those out just a few weeks ago to Bosch wipers. I really believe the factory wipers are just low quality.

I'm realizing you may be right. Thanks for the advice. And thanks for trusting my video as being accurate. One person on here thought the windshield was dry in my video I stead of offering any advice.

I use NexGen ceramic spray on my truck about every 6 months. When I do it I ceramic coat the entire windshield. It's like Rain-X on steroids. I've had my truck since February of 25, always parked outside, still on the factory wiper blades that work as well as the day I bought it. I think the ceramic coating prevents minerals and bug guts from sticking to the glass wearing out your wiper blades.

I'll check it out. Speaking of bug guts... what do you clean your windshield with before applying the ceramic spray?
