I'm looking at the factory window deflectors and would like opinions from those that have them installed. I have always had in-channel deflectors.

I have not seen in channel yet. I’m sure they’ll be out soon. I like the look of in channel better

My experience with in-channel deflectors has been mixed, especially with vehicles with one-touch auto up windows, like the Maverick. I've found they can cause the window anti-pinch strategy to keep the windows from going up completely. Not every time, but often enough to recommend against them.

I have had the same issues with in channel ones on my VW and it would always kick the safety feature at the worse time, like in the rain, snow, etc…. Looking forward to getting my Mav soon and already have the window deflectors ordered!

Same experience with in channel on two subarus and a Mazda. My first step of Weathertech in channel ones on my 2015 Outback were comical how much I played with it trying to get them to go up and down.

The Mazdas were much better and I attributed that to the relatively gentle flat curve of the window as opposed to the Subaru. So tried again with the Forester when I took it over from my wife and the Weathertech ones broke the first time I rolled the window up. Ordered factory Subaru ones, stuck them on and have never looked back.

Won't think twice about ordering the factory set.

Takes a week or two for the window seals to get used to the visors being in there and they’ll stop triggering the auto roll down

I just ordered the Ford window deflectors yesterday. I didn’t even know there was a different style. Good luck!

Always used Weathertech, never had a problem. They said they should have something out in a couple months. Too cold on the north coast to install right now anyway.

Just so you know that my XLT doesn’t have 1 touch up window so you won’t have a problem with that. I’ve also had both in channels & outside like these are and also they are currently the only ones available at this time. My opinion is I like them and I’m not having any problems with them - I’ve also seen people put them on to the door so they’re not as low? I even looked at this too before I stuck them on & I have mine on the seals as directions show which is lower/fuller coverage but just like we all see even the way they’re installed is a personal preference

I have the Ford deflectors, and I am very disappointed with the quality of the finish. The edges are not smooth finished, and they are cut unevenly. I would wait for aftermarket. They will be cheaper and better quality.
