Truck delivery for most of the vehicles usually aren't teamster, which is mainly active near ports and the northeast. Since they are only striking 3 plants right now I don't see the railroads not transporting other vehicles. Bigger problem will be if they strike engine or transmission plants.

My truck has arrived at the port of Portland, which is the last stop before being moved to the dealership. It is not yet at the dealership. I was told the strike wont affect my order at all.

Damn straight! They are paying well and making billions, they can pay better and still make billions, and I want a good build on my truck! It is a present to myself for turning 60 (without someone running me over with a dump truck) and being a 25 year cancer survivor. I can wait a little longer. If it goes into 2025 I have an awesome dealer that specializes in fleets and industrial trucks and they will help me through any further process.

So close but so far. My Maverick took the slow train from Mexico, passing through Arizona, Missouri, Ohio and is now in New Boston, MI at the CSX Automotive Services rail yard, just a few short miles from my dealer near Detroit. Whether or not it gets unloaded, and if it gets on a truck and delivered to the dealer is anyone's guess. Hoping for the best.

The plants in Mexico aren’t UAW, however there may be an issue once the vehicle arrives in the states. The teamsters are honoring the strike and I also heard (a rumor) that the railway workers won’t be transporting the vehicles either.

Yes. The production lines at Hermosillo should keep humming along without issue. The UAW strike is about as bothersome to them as a cloudy day. The wrinkle occurs when you look at logistics-parts delivery and product delivery. The Teamsters and Rail Workers will honor the work stoppages of other unions, and they’re permitted this per their respective contractural rights (at least they used to be). That is where things can get pretty messy-logistics. No parts arriving to build the vehicles and impediments on getting the vehicles delivered to their destinations.

I'm just glad I bought my Maverick at a price that I'll never see again. The cost is always passed on to the consumer.

How would she get from train hub to dealership? Why put her on a train to Houston if there's not gonna be a truck there to meet her? ...om... 😵💫 ...om... ... ...

at the moment, the strike is limited to 3 plants: a Ford assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan; a GM assembly plant in Wentzville, Missouri; and a Stellantis plant in Toledo, Ohio....
as far as the Ford plant goes, they make the broncos and rangers at this location. if the strike goes on for any lengthy period of time, there'll likely be a shortage of new broncos and rangers on the lot so dealers will either suffer or have a field day jacking the MSRP ... but i don't see mavericks being impacted in any way.

Just some info to ponder: strike pay for UAW members on strike is $500/week. That’s probably less than half their normal pay and you have to be on strike more than six days before that kicks in. If, like a majority of families, UAW workers are living paycheck-to-paycheck, the strike could get painful for the strikers pretty quick.
C`mon man .
