Does this mean the wait gets longer? Or does the mfg in Mexico side step that issue.

The plants in Mexico aren’t UAW, however there may be an issue once the vehicle arrives in the states. The teamsters are honoring the strike and I also heard (a rumor) that the railway workers won’t be transporting the vehicles either.

It may not be a rumor…. I received a notification this morning from Vin View that my truck, which was in IL, had been taken back to KS due to a BAD order… aka “defective rail car”

Just some info to ponder: strike pay for UAW members on strike is $500/week. That’s probably less than half their normal pay and you have to be on strike more than six days before that kicks in. If, like a majority of families, UAW workers are living paycheck-to-paycheck, the strike could get painful for the strikers pretty quick.

No rush. No worries.

If it takes a month longer, that only means your Financials will be in a little better place.

Don't need to temp the union people to intentionally make mistakes and defects to "teach Ford a lesson." I don't need to interfere with their squabbles. I'd rather have a good vehicle with a little wait than a defected one without a wait.

The other issue is suppliers. They may close if they are part of the UAW, or in support of the UAW, or due to lack of demand if no plants are open. I'm sure there are a few parts in a Mav made in the USA and assembled in Mexico.

They will suck it up, expecting a huge signing bonus like usual. It'll take a while before the reduced pay hurts the workers. It'll also take a while before the strike hurts the automakers, considering inventories have been exploding the last few months.

My Medium sized dealer only has 43 new vehicles for sale. That includes 15 F150's. They used to have 250-350 at all times.

People in these UAW threads always show they've either never been a part of a union or don't know anyone who has. Yes they will make less than their weekly pay by picketing but any responsible union worker has been saving up for the strike possibility. The strike didn't just sneak up on them yesterday. If there hadn't been a strike that was just money saved for next time. As someone else said they will suck it up to fight for what they want. These automakers make billions no reasons the backbones of them shouldn't be paid more fairly for their hard work.
