Pop2020, that looks about like the color I remember my parents had for their Maverick.

Thanks on the official Maverick family member welcome, Shecster. (y)

I miss-typed in my earlier post. Dad had a 1930 Model A that he restored. Also had a 1929 convertible that he started to restore but did not finish. Don't remember why. Not the best quality pics but all I have at the moment. A few better ones with me as a toddler sitting on the running board but don't want to bore ya with those. :)

Model As.jpg

added -the 1929 was a right hand drive and not just a mirrored image.
Beautiful ✔
Dad had good taste - I especially like the ‘ 30 Tudor sedan.
You are definitely in the Ford family...... 🍀

My grandparents had one, a 2-door in an ugly green with black vinyl. I believe it went to my Aunt after Grandpa passed away (Grandma didn't drive) and eventually rusted away.

My Grandfather purchased new 1972 base Maverick, Brown, with Brown Interior, then my dad started driving it after my grandfather could not drive any more, I learned to drive in that car.

My 1st wife had a Grabber Green one, that had a V-8 swapped in place of the original 6. I should have paid better attention to the signs,,,,

HRG
I had a friend that bought a first year Grabber & drove from dealer to brother in laws gas station. Motor/ transmission/ rear end out in no time. A pretty Cammy 302 went in with a 9" rear end. Auto but I don't know which one. By morning he was doing burnouts & looking for Novas lol. BIL had a 62 Galaxy 500 with a 427 side oiler. Loco Fomoco.

Yes, it will be my first Ford Maverick.

Cars I've driven (since age 16):
1977 Dodge Diplomat
1978 Chrystler LeBarron x2
1979 Plymouth Gran Fury (I think...some big blue boat of a car)
1981 Ford Granada
1983 Chevy Citation
1983 Honda Civic
1991 Ford Festiva
1993 Ford Festiva
1996 Plymouth Neon
2004 Kia Spectra
2009 Mazda 5
2010 Honda Odyssey
2012 Honda Odyssey
2013 Honda Insight
LOL! You must be young!
(In chronological order of ownership)

1977 Plymouth Fury
1971 Ford Maverick
1978 Dodge Monaco
1978 Plymouth Horizon
1980 Plymouth Horizon
1978 Olds Gutless
1983 Ford Fairmont
1980 Ford Mustang
1963 Plymouth Fury III
1980 Plymouth Champ
1987 Isuzu P'up
1990 Ford Festiva
1993 Plymouth Sundance
1995 Ford F150
1986 Olds Ciera
1998 Chevy Malibu
1998 Volvo S70
1998 Dodge Durango
2000 Volvo S80 T6
2001 Volvo S80 T6
2004 Volvo XC90 T5
2008 Volvo C30
1993 Volvo 850
2007 S80 V8
2014 Kia Soul
2015 Kia Forte5
2017 Kia Nero
2013 Ford F150
2002 Volvo S60 AWD (black)
2002 Volvo S60 AWD (red)
2015 Kia Soul!
2006 Kia Sedona
And whenever they get around to building it, 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid

I delivered pizza for 25+ years, so most of these were disposable cars. I also live on a rural county road with a lot of deer. Longest lived were the Dodge Monaco (12 years) and the Volvo S70 (11 years with me and still going with my nephew).

how did you like the Honda Element? I had never one but they always intrigued me for the spacious cargo room and the fact they were a Honda so high probable dependability.

The Element was great. I had a stick shift AWD. Yes, you could lay the rear seats flat, then flip them up to the sides and have the whole rear wide open. Amazing space. Terrible gas mileage though, but it was 2005 lol

I owned two original Mav coupes. A 74 in blue with the 6 cyl. Sold it on eBay in the early days of eBay and drove it to New Mexico to meet the buyer at a mcDonalds. Second one was a 72 Grabber, Green with the 302. Loved that car. I stupidly swapped it for a 90’s Firebird. Bad, bad trade. The entire drive down from Colorado to Amarillo people kept commenting on how nice my Maverick was whenever I’d stop. Met at a Taco Cabana that time and swapped titles/cars. Lol.

Back in college I owned a 1973 Maverick. The only option it had was an auto transmission. Didn't even have a radio.

So if you haven’t already ordered as it stands now many may not get their first Maverick as soon as they had hoped for.
Ford has a runaway winner in a very “ unique market place and world climate”....so I may well be holding onto our first ( original ‘71 Maverick) and be happy with that for now. Could this by our first and only Maverick? Fingers crossed - I hope not ✔🇺🇸

1st car was a 1954 Ford Mainline with an inline 6, 6 volt battery and a three on the tree. New hybrid feels about the same size.
