I think much depends on what part of the country you live in. My salesman told me they expected my truck to be delivered to their dealership 5 to 6 weeks from my Nov. 1st build date. My dealer is in Reno NV. He was 1 week off anticipating my build date, for what it's worth. I have no idea what the train routing would be to where? And how much of the delivery would be by truck. Logistics would seem mind boggling. We're on an East to West main railway system but not at all on a North South system.
My dealer says he will have one on 10/13 that Ford is sending to the dealership so they can at least show it to people. He sounded like it would not be for sale. I plan to go look at it.
Being in Phoenix, they could simply drive the truck to me in a few hours after it's built. Obviously that's not how it works, but it would be cool if it was!
My friend was trying to put an order in for an XLT Hybrid today and she was told that the Ford ordering system is swamped and oit working right now. Sounds like it will be awhile before all the retail orders are filled.
