the goal isnt to simplify for the sake of it.If Ford's goal is to simply manufacturing then why not just use the larger gas tank for both Hybrid and Eco's?
if they arent having issues sourcing tanks, why change it?

Right.MTE = what? Miles To Empty?
Yes, the fuel system on the hybrid is pressurized to help keep the fuel below its vapor pressure so more stays liquid to be used directly. This is why the hybrid has a solenoid locked fuel door. However I guess the gas tank for the Atkinson motor is different may be pressurized or something. I am still looking for an explanation on the fuel system for it.
To be honest, I had to go look up what you were talking about.Yes, the fuel system on the hybrid is pressurized to help keep the fuel below its vapor pressure so more stays liquid to be used directly. This is why the hybrid has a solenoid locked fuel door.
The hybrid in part exists to help meet low-/zero-emission targets so less emissions and higher fuel efficiency are the goal even if it means a bit more complexity. See also Ford working to get the hybrid's emission certification upgraded from ULEV50 to SULEV30 around Job 2 '22MY.
It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it.36k on my 2022 maverick hybrid and haven't had an issue with the tank size.
Perhaps part of that 2.7 gallons is. Related to the need for proper air space needed for the hybrid. Therefore it's designed to click off the fuel pump earlier. Not technically since some here have managed to squeeze 16+ gallons into the hybrid. But that only further supports that they do, in fact, use the same gas tank body.
Yes the hybrid is pressurized and instructions say to not top off to prevent possible hazards (does not say if hazard is to person or vehicle). A button is pushed to depressurize the tank and unlatch the fuel door and if that doesn't open doors then there is a manual cable to pull to Do it.Listening to Tim Bartz, he was talking about the sliding glass back window being eliminated, and made it sound like it was more for standardization which = lower production turn time than it was a supplier issue, I was just thinking along those same lines. However I guess the gas tank for the Atkinson motor is different may be pressurized or something. I am still looking for an explanation on the fuel system for it.
