Better question: Why is Ford now selling Mavericks in South America when they can't build enough orders for all the demand in North America?

the goal is to get you in the door, they're lonesome.
Some of you might have thought I was trying to be funny with that comment, not, it's kinda sad.

I stop at my dealer occasionally to visit my step son J in the service dept. I go in the front on the way to his office and there are usually 3 salesmen sitting around. Each time they look up at me like a dog looks at a pork chop. Seeing that it's just J's dad there's a nod or wave and it's back to their crosswords or whatever. Inside the showroom, big enough for 8 or so cars is 3 Ecosports and an Escape, maybe 1 or 2 people. Outside in the lot, that's big enough for 3 double autocross tracks is a handful of the same, nothing else. Whatever they are selling is in-sold-gone. Across the driveway is their Mazda showroom and lot, smaller but just as empty.
From what I see it's the service dept that's mostly keeping the lights on, busy.

Maybe Ford wants you to walk into that showroom so they can sell you an F150 or Bronco and make REAL money. If it takes advertising something you can't actually buy - well "all's fair in love and car sales". Also, it looks like showroom stock of Ecoboosts is about to start arriving in 2023.

"We don't have any Mavericks on the lot, but come over here and let me show you this primo $90,000 Lightning". I was actually sitting in a Lightning demo in my dealer's showroom. My salesman said they couldn't sell it for several months, and when they did it was going for at least $20,000 over MSRP.

Ernie, I see you ordered a Lariat T. Lucky guy! My channel has videos of my carb gray AWD but yours will be next level!

Because their money spends just as well as ours does, and pulling out in favor of one country instead of another would do long term harm to their brand and sales?

The reason why Ford runs ads like this is pretty simple -- most of the people they're advertising to aren't folks who are buying a car right now. They might be waiting a few years -- and by then, Ford assumes they'll be able to meet demand. They want to live in folks' heads in the meanwhile.

So when it comes time for them to actually buy something, they get a Ford instead of a Chevy.

It's the same reason Coke advertises. They know you know what Coke is. But they want you thinking about Coke so you maybe buy it later.

Good luck! I ordered a Rav4 Prime over a year and a half ago and still nothing....
My wife has the Prime. It's FUN. If I didn't use my bed so often, I'd have 2 Rav4s in the driveway.

Let me know when your wife gets bored with the PRIME and I'll take it off your hands! ; - )

Ha! Good luck. Got close to 20k miles on it already. It's a great car. I use the 1500w inverter all the time. And it's quick. I never feel guilty punching it at a stop light. That is, until I look at the tires. I bet I'll be due for tires on that in the next 10-15k miles

Marketing is nothing more than an enticement to get you in the door. Its been that was since the first ads were posted in ancient Mesopotamia regarding clay tablets "of the highest quality clay". It was all crap, we knew that market had lumpy clay.

I would call this advertisement "bait and switch" sales technique. Most likely the dealer will not have a Maverick to sell but will gladly sell a different vehicle to you.

I don't think Ford has spent much on advertising, since I heard of the Maverick in June of 21 & up to this day I have never seen an ad for the Maverick ANYWHERE & I'm on the internet everyday.
