MT cans in tank and get new gas. Remembering getting folks car , buy a pack of smokes and 3 gal of gas and give them a buck.

I’m most like A on road trips like we are on now. If we are staying local I will fill it a little sooner. Got to about 35 miles estimated range remaining last night and again this evening.

I always fill it up when I do put fuel in. I’ve been keeping gas mileage and maintenance logs since my first car in 1976.

If it's hot out, 1/4 tank. Normally, I'll go a little lower. Road trips, you take it to E. Anytime I'm away though, if I see a really cheap Exxon and I'm under 1/2 tank, I may stop.

Generally fill up when MTE is 90-120. Sooner if on road as wife and I will potty stop and change drivers every 2-2.5 hours. Due to possible traffic delays, etc like to keep 4+ hours operation plus 100+ miles in tank. Been there - done that = pull in to fill up and all pumps in town off line, not working and cannot reboot. 42 miles to next pump. Also once interstate closed due to fire = choice of wait or add 120 mile detour. There is a small ranching town in Texas where something like 70% of people work for The Ranch and if store is closed in middle of night it has been reported pump will free dispense a few gallons.

I always try to fill up at 1/4 tank. Because in Colorado you never know what parking lot you might get stuck on.. I-25 OR I 70...

Most cars/trucks have fuel pump in gas tank . Uses fuel as a coolant for fuel pump . overheating and need for repair may happen prematurely with constant low fuel levels imo . I keep gas tank at least half full . top off if hurricanes coming to Florida . Also top off liquid spirits  .
I wait till the light comes on, I think it keeps the gas fresher that way. I can go another 30 miles after the light comes on, Tested it.

This, but only when I'm at or below half a tank - unless I know I have a trip coming up.
I have a Costco close to work so the timing is easy. Maybe every other week.

I’d go to Costco but the closest one to me depending on the time of day is 30-45 mins away and it’s usually 20 cars deep. I downloaded the Upside app and get cash back on fill ups.

My Grandpas words of wisdom “Fill up at a half tank and you will never run out of gas” 🤭
Never leave home and you'll never run out of gas. Or get in an accident. So staying home is better.

In the Hybrid anyway, the fuel pump is in a sump. The sump is a specially designed deep spot in the tank. As long as you have 1 or 2 gallons or more the pump is submerged. (Hint: you have 2.5 gallons in there when the gauge hits the imaginary "empty" mark.)

This is not your father's Oldsmobile.

You can run to "E" every single time.
It is specifically designed for it.

I agree fuel is a coolant and lubricant. Go around corners fast hard acceleration or braking can starve a pump briefly and cause heat and wear. Ive replaced plenty because of this.
This is not the case with today's designs.
See message one above this one.
Enjoy!

Lunchtime on a workday makes it easy. No line and I get lunch there.
