This is a regular thing on his videos. It's sad. Scary, and sad.
Yeah, that channel and Mechanical Nightmare show some truly scary things. Not sure why I enjoy it, but there are also silly things people do that make it worth while. Like when people put some heavy thing on a shifter and cannot figure out why they cannot put their vehicle in drive.

"Thunk noise coming from rear of vehicle"

*Opens trunk, removes something that was rolling around.

I was a mechanic for a fleet of front end dumps years ago and I'd never do it for a dealership/car shop. Some of the vehicles people bring in and expect someone else to drive even 3 feet with all their trash inside is astonishing. Dog hair, old moldy food, insects, who knows what diseases on stuff they touch... No sir. Plus, some of the unsafe vehicles that get denied services and they get right back on the road.

I can relate to the trash, etc. I used to do drive tests (DMV), and you would think they'd clean out the car! Okay, most did, but some were horrendous. The smell, the trash, I used to wear a raincoat because I never knew what the seat would look like or have on it.

If you watch some of the auto detailing videos on youtube you will be amazed at how dirty vehicles can get. Very disgusting. Some people can have a car for 20 years and it looks brand new. Others at 6 months-2 years look destroyed. I get offers all the time on my 2004 Ford Excursion PSD 4x4 because it has been maintained and garaged. Still looks new. But it was cleaned and washed after every trip. I would be embarrassed to take some of these cars to a detailer.

The shop I worked at, we had a hoarder car. It was filled with crap, and the guy smoked cigars. Most disgusting car ever. I hated when he would bring it in because if I had to move it, I would stink the rest of the day.
