I have a feeling I'm in the younger crowd for getting this truck. I'm 35 but feel the majority on here might have me by a few years.
im in the younger crowd and younger than you haha. just turned 27 a few weeks back and i agree with the majority of folks so far atleast having ordered are in the 40s and up. if not 50s and up. Time will tell if the young whippersnappers buy them as years go on.

Velocity Blue Lariat hybrid w/trailer hitch, splash guards, soft tonneau, spray-in bedliner.

A week before the Maverick was officially announced, I had been commenting online about how I wanted to see a return to compact trucks and I was excited when someone replied with the news about the Maverick. I've had 2 F-150s over the past 20 years and always loved them, but hated their ever-increasing size and decreasing fuel efficiency. I'm excited about the hybrid version but I'm also concerned it's not gonna have enough power for me. Hard to quickly explain the circumstances, but this is also the first vehicle I've bought that I actually really wanted and didn't just need due to certain circumstances. I've worked hard to be able to afford this on my own and have a substantial deposit which will help me keep a low payment. This one means a lot to me and I'm really excited to be an early adopter. Also really enjoying the community here.

And some nearly twice. 😕
And others MORE than twice...

Responding to the original, the Maverick is just about the right size. The latest Ranger is a LOT bigger than my Ol' Red(OLD Red). Came close to buying one, but just did not like it enough to pull the trigger.
Went with ecoboost as I like having multiple ratios to be able to match engine output @rpm to the vehicle speed. CVTe only has one ratio.(with electric assist) A few options that spouse demanded to a non-lux XLT. XLT because of cruise. I like the looks of the XL interior and prefer steel wheels, so Momma getting her moonroof cost more and I didn't get what I really want. Here's hoping it gets scheduled before I get my final orders...

Why Maverick in general? My first car growing up was a 94 Ranger. Parents bought a cheap used car for their son that they also could have in case they needed a truck. Loved that little guy, drove it all over. Was a great truck and I liked that it was small. I am one of those people that for the last decade has been like "trucks are way too big, someone should make a small one. I'd buy that!" Well now I can put my money where my mouth is.

Which model and options?
Color: area 51. Just think it's a cool color, and it matches the interior.

XLT: I prefer the cool orange cloth interior over the faux leather of the Lariat. The top trim really makes the cheap parts stick out to me. Adaptive cruise would be cool, as would the nicer stereo, but that makes this thing at my build $33,000 which to me is too much for what is essentially a weird economy car.

Hybrid: I don't tow anything. I'm buying a commuter car, I don't need AWD (where I live is pretty flat), and 40 MPG is a huge selling point.

Luxury package: the tricked out bed along with heated everything in the interior made this a pretty easy sell to me. Adds a lot of cool quirks and will help with resale. Plus having a hitch is good if I do ever want to haul a small boat or a trailer.

Rear manual window: my ranger had it, helps to vent the cab on hot days.

Splash guards: I live in Oregon

All weather floor liners: ...I live in Oregon

Bed Extender: there's advantages to a six foot bed, so it seemed like a good addition. Adds versatility.

Protective film for hood and fenders: I plan on having it for a while, so I wanted to keep the paint looking good for resale. I Live in the country, so it will help with rock chips.

Cargo bed net: seemed useful

Throw in a roadside assistance kit and my build comes in at just under $27,500, which is around what I'm looking to pay for a new car as a new college grad just starting out making 50k a year. I feel like I'm the exact target demo for this truck. The other car I was considering was a mazda3 hatchback for around $29,000, and this won out for being cheaper, more fuel efficient, and also...yo it's a truck!

Options I considered but eventually dismissed:

Tonneau cover: never had one on my ranger, don't want the extra expense. Plus it really hurts rear visibility when rolled up, and it conflicts with the bed Extender. Can't order both.

Co pilot 360: BLIS is great, but it's a small truck. Visibility is not an issue, so it doesn't seem super necessary, and I certainly don't need bad herky jerky lane "assist". If it had lane CENTERING I'd consider. Plus if you don't get it they replace the slot with spotters.

Moon roof: just didn't seem like it was worth $800. I always equated moon roof with luxury cars, so I don't think I'll miss having it. Also it seems pretty small, and they add weight which would hurt mileage.

I currently drive a Focus ST, it was my first big purchase after college. Great car, love the manual, it's plenty fast for me, but it has hardly any features (base trim). I also want something further off the ground now!

I went with a Lariat Lux Pkg hybrid in Cyber Orange with the moonroof. I want all those driver assist features, that's the main reason for optioning up. The only thing I'm concerned about is the hybrid feeling too slow. My Focus ST is slow but it feels fast.

The upfront and ongoing cost of the ecoboost is hard to justify for me personally.

In theory a cbt has an unlimited amount of ratios.

XLT hybrid FWD, area 51, with spray-in bedliner and tow hitch.

We're a mid-late 30's couple with 2 young kids. We weren't even looking for a vehicle, wife and I work primarily from home and have shared a single car for over 5yrs with zero issues, and a truck wasn't even on our radar until we caught wind of the Maverick. We are very "outdoorsy" (hiking, camping, snowshoeing, mountain biking) and while our VW jetta has done the trick, it isn't ideal. Also, we recently ordered a pair of full suspension e-assist fat bikes (weighing ~85lbs. each) and were wondering how the heck we were going to get them to the trails (wasn't keen on putting a huge heavy tow-hitch rack on the jetta). We absolutely do not need a truck or even another car, but (although we are insanely cheap) we're fortunate to be in a position where writing a check for $27k (or so) for a want isn't really a big deal so this will be a fun family adventure vehicle.

I have never owned a pickup and the only thing I may put in the back would be a bike or golf clubs and the occasional Home Depot trip. I chose the XLT Area 51. I’m looking for price, good looks, gas mileage and overall coolness. I’m 66 years old so, it’s time I had a pickup! The only disappointment is no satellite radio. I love my SiriusXM. I will survive. 😂

I'm 76 and chose the same XLT (mostly because of cruise control) Area 51 hybrid (gas mileage). Wanted a small pickup with 4 doors and wanted either a hybrid or electric. For the price and with all that you get for that price, it was a no-brainer! 4 wheel disc brakes at this price.Wow! I could go on and on. It is a very well thought out gem.

Lariat with every available option - because I f#@king deserve it.

I've never bought anything really nice for myself, let alone ever owned a car with less than 50K miles. So... I YOLO'd it... for once. This is why we work, is it not?

I wanted something that can tow, has luxury features, good gas mileage while still having good power, a nice interior, and all the tech features that the Maverick has.

I got the XLT lux hybrid velocity blue with a moonroof! I had a Honda Element before and I LOVED it. But it was 14 years old and I just graduated college with a new job that requires lots of travel so I had to let it go... I replaced it with a. Jeep Renegade and I don't like it. I feel like it's small, and I can't pack it full of stuff and haul things around like I could my element... Enter the Maverick! I'm so excited! I got the XLT mainly for the fun orange accents on the inside, the velocity blue for the fun color again. I got the luxury package because I live in the northeast and I NEED heated seats and a steering wheel lol. Because of all my driving (I put 20k miles on my Jeep in 1 year) I figured the hybrid would be best, I don't need to tow anything ( my fiance has a Willy's V6 Wrangler for that), and Ive always wanted a moonroof! 😁

<-- 42. I'm old enough to use ASCII art in "bulletin boards" on the World Wide Web. :p

3 years looking for high MPG trucks. Then Maverick arrives. No brainer.

Also, 42 is the meaning of Life, The Universe, and Everything. Some learned folks may get that reference. :)

I ordered an 2.0 Alto Blue lariat with tow and fx4 packages. I also added spray in bed liner and bed lights. I am more than excited for this truck. I attached what my truck is suppose to look like! We are the definition of weekend warriors. Constantly doing projects or adventures. So this is the perfect truck for that.

I may be young but im a paste eater when it comes to technology and computers so youre ahead of me on that. thats for sure. I can use my computer for leisure, typing documents and basics thats it. Atleast you dont call it the Interwebs haha. Yea from what im seeing from some posts on trainers even taking the ecoboost maverick on longer highway hauls they can get over 30mpg unladen so thats quite good MPG. That will absolutely be a help in this day and age of rising gas prices.
