To not follow the advice of internet experts. ;-)
At what mileage point did you do your first oil change? And how frequently since then?

I did my first at 3000 miles. AWD, FX4, Ecoboost engine. I know the oil is very clean, but I also know that there is a lot of metal from the pistons seating and other metal parts. The Model T you see here gets a change every 500 miles. No filter. The oil is black, and the magnet inside the engine always has lots of metal filings. I will change again at 6000, 10000, and then every 5000 after that. I rotate the tires every 10000 as well.

Just did my first oil change on my EB at 1050 miles. Maybe I'm an old timer (OK so am definitely an old timer) but want to flush the system after surfaces are mated, and also to flush any assembly lubricants.

Strangely enough, the drained oil had a greenish tint to it which I've never seen before. Not as much of a concern as the oil level being just above the "low" line though, will definitely keep a close eye on this.

Going forward will follow the % oil life that the computer tracks. That strategy has worked well with our 2009 Honda Element.

To remove most of the break-in particles from the engine oil circulation circuit I would recommend changing the factory oil after 1,000-2,000 miles, which is when the main break-in has already happened. I did my hybrid at 1,600 miles.
Can you explain to me what you think an oil filter does?

Suggestions needed for when to do first oil change~~~~ I've seen comments from 500 miles to 10,000 for doing 1st oil change. And should I ask dealer to use Full Synthetic instead of Synthetic Blend?
In my earlier years I would do my own oil changes to make sure the drain plug was in tight enough & filter was actually changed, etc. Now I see that there is a big panel/shield that has to be removed to even get to drain plug& filter; and I'm older and more feeble so doing it myself isn't as much fun. And I sense future warranty issues if I don't have dealer's records to prove that oil changes have occurred during warranty period. Any advice is appreciated. I'm at 1,020 miles so it's time to consider the 1st oil change .
I changed oil first at a little over 1,000 miles in case there were any metal in it from being new. After that every 5,000 miles. Oil changes inexpensive insurance to prolong engine life. I am still using synthetic blend as recommended but plan on going with full synthetic soon. Any suggestions on this?

Got me to thinking about mine too. Same truck as yours. The sales man told me they would let me know when to bring it back in for the first oil change. He said the truck will contact them. I will go with that. Presently I have about 1500 after 6 months. It would take me a couple of years to put on 10K miles. I understand it is best to change synthetic oil at least once a year. So, if they do not contact me by November, I will contact them. Also, they now come to my home to change fluids. I may go with that.

Oil is cheap. Engine repairs aren’t.

Not sure if the 2.5L hybrid will have oil sludging or other issues some day, but I prefer to play it safe and change sooner rather than later.

As a retired For Engineer I recommend 1500 miles for the first oil/filter changes and 4000 miles thereafter.

I cut holes in the Belly Cover on my vehicle that allows access to the Oil Filter, Crankcase Drain Plug. I am 89 YO and easily do my own maintenance.

The dealer put a sticker on my NEW 2024 it says: 5000 Miles, or to 15% remaining oil life.,

Go by Ford's recommendation in the manual. For my ecoboost maverick it's 5000 miles for the first and subsequent oil changes.ford wants their vehicles to last so they get return customers. They aren't going to recommend something that's detrimental to longevity.

With the answers I have seen here I’m going by the book as far as oil changes go. I’m not wanting to start a second religion.

Something worth considering if you plan on keeping your Mav for quite awhile…Check out an expert’s opinion below:
