Hello everyone out there in Maverick land. A most important subject we all need to discuss now. The naming of our Mavericks. To start this out, I will proceed to provide the name of my new Maverick, once “He” arrives. First you will notice I referred to my new maverick as “He”. This is the first step in the naming process, determining if the Maverick will be a “He” or “She”. I have decided my new maverick will be a “He” and “His” name will be “MAX”. Now the story why I have made this decision. The first of the year, my wife and I purchased a new Toyota Venza, Ruby Red in color. Now since my wife will be the primary driver of this beauty, and the color is ruby red, it just seemed to fit calling the car “Ruby”. Ruby is a pretty car. Ruby just doesn’t go well as a He, so it only makes sense to call our Venza, She. So we call our Venza “Ruby” because she is pretty and red in color. She is an awesome car. Hybrid by the way. Now the reason why I’m naming my Maverick “MAX” is because he is just a little guy. A want-a-be manly truck. Just a play with words here. So my little Maverick is going to be “MAX”. Build his self esteem. Besides, Ruby needs a boyfriend and Max needs a girlfriend. Weird you are probably thinking to yourself at this time. Awe yes I must agree with you on that. All in good fun. The naming of your transportation is all in fun. Sounds better saying, ”Max” and I are going to the store vs. I’m taking the pickup to the store. So I would be interested in what everyone will be naming there Mavericks. I’m sure there will be many out there who will think I’m a nut case and don’t name their vehicles. That’s fine, you don’t need to respond to this. It will be interesting to hear some of the names you guys come up with. Big Red, Little Joe, Sweety Pie . . . Oh the possibilities are endless. Let’s hear the names you guys are coming up with. Hope to hear back.
morty - ask the wife, I’m afraid to.

Alto Blue, Hybrid XLT.

Name: "Wildfire" after a mythical Native American horse. A song released in the mid 70's by Michael Martin Murphy I heard on the radio upon returning from a college rodeo in Lubbock, TX. "Wildfire" and I plan on running the prairies (and interstates) to return to Big Bend National Park and the Chisos Mountains; Glacier National Park before the glaciers melt; Yellowstone National Park, Teton National Park, Rocky Mountain national park and other parks state or national within America. Retirement is so good!

I ordered the Cyber Orange Maverick. My vehicles have always been guys when I’ve named them.

Thing is I’m in Texas and was thinking of the Yellow Rose of Texas, Rose for short. Guess I could still use that after all there was a Boy Named Sue. LOL!!

I never really named a vehicle before. They just sort of earned their name. My first car was Blue. Second was Red. Then a string of "The" followed by the manufacturer or model when I had a lot. The Mirage. The Buick. The Lumina. The Pontiac. The Buick.

Recently, I had a Buick that refused to die that became the Old Girl. My F150 is the Thirsty Girl. I bought a cheap van that quickly earned the name Rust Bucket. Then there was the Hyundai and the Caddy.

Now, though, my daughter named my truck. My wife just got a new Mazda and my daughter was tasked with giving it a name and chose Charlie. And for my Maverick, she named it Bluey. Which is one of her favorite cartoon characters. So I consider it a high honor to drive Bluey.

Due to the yellowness of the Cyber Orange, I am currently running with Ms. Frizzell. It will probably change lol
It has changed. I got it in cyber orange because it made the Mav look look mean, and like it had little man syndrome.

I'm naming it Napolean and my bike shall be Josephine.

I have an Indian I call Cheyanne because I was outvoted by my wife and couldn't name my daughter that. At least I got Ann as her middle name.
My Ural is Babe cause it's blue and strong but gentle Just like the Big Blue Ox.
The 2000 Ranger I just sold was Stanley because.... well that's what my son named it.
Never did name the 2003 Ram I bought new. I have just call it "The Truck" for the last 19 years.
The Mavrick is going to be called Rudy. If I have to explain, you have never watched the movie.

I've gone back and forth on this. Since my truck will be Cyber Orange with black trim. I have decided on naming my truck "Monarch". I love my monarch butterflies. I even keep my milkweeds growing so they have a place to eat and lay eggs to create more. Another reason is they are a small things (Maverick) yet are driven against all odds to migrate from the north back South America (Mexico). Here's a bit of something I found on the Internet:
Migration and Overwintering

The annual migration of North America’s monarch butterfly is a unique and amazing phenomenon. The monarch is the only butterfly known to make a two-way migration as birds do. Unlike other butterflies that can overwinter as larvae, pupae, or even as adults in some species, monarchs cannot survive the cold winters of northern climates. Using environmental cues, the monarchs know when it is time to travel south for the winter. Monarchs use a combination of air currents and thermals to travel long distances. Some fly as far as 3,000 miles to reach their winter home!
Where Do Monarchs Go?
Monarchs in Eastern North America have a second home in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico. Monarchs in Western North America overwinter in California.

Haven't we done this before?

"MY TRUCK" As in "do you want to take your car or My Truck?" Do you want to take your truck or "My Truck?" The credit card is high because I charged a lot of things for "My Truck."

I'm going to take The Dog and The Kid to the store in My Truck.
As a big Who fan and more specifically a John Entwistle fan, I'm gonna name my Oxford White Hybrid "The Ox"... IF it ever gets here.

I decided to name my truck Lepton.

Lepton

Description
In particle physics, a lepton is an elementary particle of half-integer spin that does not undergo strong interactions. Two main classes of leptons exist: charged leptons, and neutral leptons.

I don't know why, but when I read this description it makes me laugh. Sounds like two people meeting and not being really sure how they feel about one another. You ever meet someone that you take an instant dislike to for no reason, but then somewhere down the line something weird happens that totally transforms your opinion about that person?
