I get your point but at the same time pennzoil 5w-30 is not ford approved, there must be a reason for that. I only buy pennzoil but will go with castrol edge for the mav.
I get your point too. Why use something that isn't approved when plenty of approved alternatives are out there? I'm just glad to see so much activity on a thread about regular maintenance.

I have researched the Warren Oil full synthetic products (WalMart. Amazon, Costco) pretty extensively. IMHO the Costco full synthetic is a great product and has a great price. I use the Costco 0w20 it in my 2015 Civic and the 5w30 in my Audi; the Costco 5w30 full syn will be my choice in my Maverick.
Would that be the Kirkland brand that you are talking about ?

I have always had goid luck with Royal Purple and Fram synthetic oil filter. I ordered the hybrid which is suppose to be 10K oil changes so this should work out good.

I will also probably run a set of filtermag clamp on magnets on the oil filter as well.

If i would have went with the EB engine i would run the Castrol Edge and stayed to 6K oil changes if the EB is a GDI engine.

I guess whatever Ford service uses/recommends.
I am through with DIY oil changes.

So what ever the dealer uses during scheduled maintenance is what it will get.

The same thing I have been putting in my Taurus for the last 18 years, whatever the Ford dealer puts in it. I couldn't even tell you where the oil filter is on my Taurus, for $30 I can't afford to crawl under the car.

Whatever kind the dealership uses when I take the Maverick in for service.
Our last 4-5 new Fords have had Ford Maintenance Plans on them so it will be Ford Synthetic blend at the dealer!!

I have been using Mobil 1 and there filters. Is there a better filter for synthetics? I switched to synthetics because I was having to change oil two times a month in the busy season but want the best filter for long interval changes.

The Motorcraft filter is probably etter than the Mobil 1 filter since it is being made by Purolator now.
