I have an XLT ordered and technically it does not have SYNC 3. I've seen one article that says for format USB drives using FAT-32. Is that how the USB drive should be formatted then? Would exFAT or NTFS work?

-Thanks

Actually, I downloaded the .PDF file which makes it easier to search. I did not see a Maximum Size of the USB. I did see someone mention a 128GB which worked.

Are there limits on the number of folders and/or files on the USB drive, particularly for Sync 3? In my current car's aftermarket radio (still waiting for my Maverick), I ran into the number of folder limit (1500) far before hitting the overall capacity limit of the USB drive. I went from Artist/Year/Album to a Artist/(Year+Album) tree structure to reduce the number of folders.

I can confirm a 128GB SSD formatted FAT-32 works. It takes a moment to index the SSD.

You can also use an external usb drive formatted as Ext4. I plugged a 2T Seagate in the other day I had formatted for a Linux machine and it recognized it with no problems.

That's a relief because my music library in .mp3 format is around 80 GB.

Can I use a USB-C drive for my music. So I can keep the USB-A port open for Motorola's MA1 adapter for Android auto. At the same time.

I used a USB-C adapter on both a USB Drive and a USB SSD and both worked great in the USB-C port.
