Apple Music library on a USB drive.

Have had not luck getting it to work. Anyone been able? Over plugging in phone.

I have SYNC3 in both my Transit Connect and my Fusion Hybrid. I bought a stick MP3 player off of Amazon ($25) that works fine plugged into the USB port of both vehicles. Holds multiples of the number of songs I have in my library. Not sure you can use a 'normal' USB memory stick to play music.

I have a normal USB stick, and it works great. All of my music is in MP3 format, so I don't know if other formats will work.

• exFAT, FAT, FAT32 and NTFS file systems.

Are you trying to run music that you've bought through Apple Music, or music from an Apple Music subscription account? Not sure if the latter would work because of copyright protection.

I used an ap. I think Dr. Fone to grab playlists from itunes to usb drive. If i keep it around 2500 songs it is pretty easy to search in my truck. I tried 7500 and kept getting a browse error. I think it has to load them all so there is probably a limit. I'm not very techy but my ipod classic didn't make the jump from my jeep to the Maverick. I guess everything dies.

Would love to hear if there is a better/other way.

What format are the music files? If they are an apple format like .aac they will not play since those are a drm protected format. If they are .m4a those are not drm protected but Ford audio may not support them period.

My apologies… I was referencing my personal music library. I play Apple Music with my phone plugged in to the USB C.

You are correct. I need software to remove the DRM.

You'll have to convert them also besides removing the drm. If they are lossy then converting to mp3 will work. If lossless then to flac.

Love the compact size. Does this flash drive have a little blinking light as it operates? That drives me nuts!
