Hi-

I'm looking to add a keyless entry pad to my '24 XLT, non-Lux package. I see the horizontal option on the accessories site. I thought I saw on here once a vertical version someone added to their Maverick, but I can't find the thread now. Anyone have a line on a vertical keyless entry pad?

🤔 The only style I have seen for the non factory installed battery powered keypad is the horizontal style. I have seen the horizontal style mounted vertical, the numbers are sideways.
Good Luck

Vertical would've been the first couple production runs that were actually hardwired into the door. Was an option they dropped from later model years.

I mounted mine vertically on the plastic of the D-Pillar... the sideways orientation of the numbers is no big deal to me.

So you can get these from the dealer? Not sure how they would work without being hardwired in, new to me. Anyone know of a website I could go to for more information? Thanks, hindsight, should have ordered it with my truck in the first place! The above looks sharp tho.

There are two available on accessories.ford.com

https://www.ford.com/product/keyless-entry-keypad-for-vehicles-with-factory-remote-start-p2885836915

https://www.ford.com/product/keyles...cles-without-factory-remote-start-p2885836916

There's also this thread that discusses that using the remote start feature in the Ford Pass app does not count as remote start. You have to have remote start on your key fob to use the keyless entry pad designed for with remote start, https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-the-wireless-stick-on-keypad-on-an-xl.24744/.

Yea I know. I'm familiar with Fords keyless entry pads. I have had them on my Fords since my SHO in the 90's up to my 23 XLT Maverick.

I bought the SHO about the time as the Mutsubishi 3000gt which I ended up giving to my wife.

Those are the same horizontal ones I saw.

I always liked the keypad entry becuase I didn't want to carry keys with me. Then, when everyone went to Fobs, I asked why I needed it. Went on an out of state trip a couple months ago with my Maverick. Since I was by myself, I asked what happens if I lose my fob? So bought a Faraday pouch and put a fob in it in the glove compartment. If something happens, I can use the keyless to open the door and get to the spare fob.

Oh yeah, and I'm glad I did since I did, in fact, lose my fob about 800 miles from home.

I liked the keypad and was sorry they dropped it on my Lariat. The battery operated one seems a little cheesy and I haven't bothered to add it back. It looks like something you might pick up at Walmart.

They are a key fob basically with unique transponder, instead of a single button press to unlock/lock, you have to get the numbers correct to unlock/lock.

Someone posted on here that they mounted the newer horizontal wireless pad where the old wired vertical ones were at and used Ford Explorer number stickers which are vertical and not horizontal. Planning on doing the same when my 25 comes in. I would double check the ones on eBay in the photo below are the right ones.

Sweet SHO! Looks like a 1991? I wanted a first or second gen SHO since the very first time I read about them back in 1988 or 1989. I was middle school at the time. It never worked out unfortunately.
