Using Maverick to move / tow a loaded roll off dumpster?

I've got a problem. A contractor has left a roll off dumpster in front of my garage, and the company is having "trouble" picking it up. It's blocking the door from opening (they dropped it too close when I wasn't home).

My question for everyone is, could/should I use my Mav with 4k tow to try and move it forward one foot so I can open the garage door? I think the entire thing probably weighs around 10k. Would I be crazy to try to nudge it a foot by "towing" it?

I assume the 4k rating is for long, controlled, safe tows. But what can the truck do over a foot?

It probably doesn't weigh anywhere near 10k unless its full of rocks/bricks. Hook a strap to it and move it, just realize it could mess up the driveway where the skids are.

You'll be surprised what you can move with a pry bar also.

1 man can move a train car (200,000lbs) with a 6 foot pry bar. (I've done it.)

I'm more than happy to overdo it but I don't think I would take the chance of ruining my trans or linkage trying to move a dumpster. Not worth the risk for me.
However, you haven't stated how big of a dumpster. A little 5 or 10 yarder I would probably do. A 30 yarder probably not.

Nothing I can think of as long as you use common sense.

You would be surprised of what work I was able to safely do with a past Samurai and a past Ranger.

I wouldn’t even if it could. It’s their problem. I’m sure they wouldn’t will not be liable if it damages your Maverick

It's a 10 yarder filled about half full with dirt. Spec's on a 10 yard are 3500lb empty, and cubic dirt can come in like 1500lb a yard. I think 10k is a reasonale guess. It's on rollers so i might try it. They at least put ply wood under the rollers to protect driveway.

I would attempt. But I would know by the time I got the rpm over about 1400 rpm if it was happening without issue or not. If it can't do it just above idle. It shouldn't do it.

I like this idea as a first attempt, although I suspect the axle and bearings of that car have much less friction than the rusty roll off "wheels". I'd love to see the rolling resistance comparison, haha.

Maybe I get some block and tackle and test Archimedes' theory.

It would probably move it,but personally I wouldn't risk it.

*UPDATE*

I tried the prybar method, didn't come close to budging.

Out came the tow strap and I dropped it into low with tow mode on. I was gentle on the gas and kept it under 2k rpm. After 3 tries, immediately gave up as the dumpster didn't even wiggle.

By some miracle the truck showed up late Saturday, just in the nick of time.

I asked the driver about weight, and he confirmed a fully loaded 10 yard rolloff, with dirt, is 30k lbs! He said scale verified. Half loaded he guessed 20k.

In summary, the Maverick with 4k tow will fail to move a 20k lb roll off.

Ya. A yard is a ton in most cases. When you said 1500 I wondered if you had a lot of low density stuff. Wet dirt, more than a ton per yard.

At my work we use those.
Delivery truck can deliver two empties at once, but can only haul away one full.

With the pry bar I guess it depends what you are pushing against.
