Hello everyone first time posting but I've being around lurking the site since mid last year. I'm from Southern California and I ordered an EB XLT, alto blue, SIBL, rear window with tow hitch and remote start on 8-02-22 and confirmed 9-17-22 with schedule build first on the week of March 6th then moved to the week of the 16th.

Well, back in August last year my 2016 Altimas transmission failed, being my only car and commuting 50mi each way to work was not fun at all and with crazy prices for used and new cars back then I was not in a position to buy new or waste money on an old one so I decided to order a maverick and replace the tran on the Altima. So I went to a ford dealership close to work I made the order for an EB coz HB was impossible. Well fist issue was that the only person allowed to order vehicle ordered me a Hybrid on 9-17 but the sales guy send me a SC of my order and I catched the error and was corrected the same day. Later when the ford bulletin came out here about free CMS with SIBL i went to the dealership and told my sales guy I wanted to add it and also the tailgate assist, well he told me that the guy didn't know what I was talking about but added the CMS without the discount and that the tailgate assist i can buy it from parts dept or amazon so he didn't added to my order. When my schedule built date arrived from ford i checked the order and noticed that the $235 remote start was also not ordered so went to the dealership and my sales guy contacted the person in charge of ordering he said that once the vehicle was scheduled for production he can not modify the order and that the remote start is an accessory and can buy it from the dealership. I was mad coz I ordered it and he can correct his mistake but it's unwilling and according to the parts dept will be costly if not ordered from factory, coz has to do with harness replacement, again all thru the sales rep which is my witness but he said not even the general manager can help me if the guy just does not want to do it and maybe they can make it right once I buy the vehicle, well I told him if it's in writing I'll believe it he said nothing and send me on my way. I regret referring a friend that also ordered an EB already.

So my questions are: is there a way to modify the order from ford not the dealership of try to contact ford directly?
Is really expensive to install remote start if not factory ordered? Or any other suggestion?

Sorry for the long post

You'll have remote start with the Ford Pass app.

This will give you a two stage shock sensor alarm as well as remote start. $190 and it can be self installed.
Just plugs into the back of the Obd2 port with a harness, and some simple programming instructions that come with it's.

Looks like that's what they're looking for anyway.

Actually it's the REMOTE START AND VEHICLE SECURITY not only remote start.

You didn't order the 54L XLT luxury package, so no remote start.

Remote start and tailgate assist are both super easy self installs. Wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not sure why you posted 2 orders, neither of which included remote start. What is it you want done differently??

Also quickly want to point out that the tailgate assist was not available to order from factory, at least not from anything I saw. It was always going to have to be aftermarket.

I saw tailgate assist on Ford's build and price website yesterday, down near the very bottom mixed in with dozens of other add-on options.

I'm not sure if it's been there before, I was surprised to see it.

There are legit reasons to be upset with Ford about the ordering process, but this does not seem to be one. You didn't check what you ordered? Then you didn't know what you were ordering? The remote start requires the upgrade to the Lux package, did you not want the $2000 lux package? The Ford OBD2 plugin remote start is a couple hundred, so it seems like the dealership was trying to help you out of cost savings was of importance to you.

Certain options can't be added/changed once the vehicle is scheduled for production.

Also, was there a language barrier which made this order a bit more complicated?

As noted above, no.

OP is looking for 2 items under the Accessories section of the Build & Price tool. Note the $235 charge and description match what is listed above. These are all DIO - Dealer Installed Options. They are not installed at the factory. The dealer doesn't need to add them to the order as they can simply arrange that through their parts department.

There is no issue here, no reason for concern, no reason for ranting. In this case, the dealer is right. Just have them install these two accessories and bill you directly.

Or has been noted, buy the parts and DIY. These are at the "so easy anyone can do it" levels of mods.

Agree ranting about ordering over this is over the top. This is a nothing issue.
