hI!

Can you share a picture of your set up. This is the exact one I have been eyeing
This time I'm going to cheat, and use a cheater fuse to add this. I'll snap some pics and add an explanation soon.

FYI - This wireless charging block https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09P5YWSKK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details accepts 12v directly. You don't need to buy a separate charger. I tested it with a Google Pixel phone hovering 1 cm above plugged into my DC power supply @12vdc at 2Amps. Phone hovering at 1 cm was only drawing about .46 amps.
CORRECTION - After installation I found a flaw in wiring directly to the vehicle's 12v source. IT DOES NOT like much more than 12vdc, and will shut off when the vehicle is running. With the alternator on you're closer to 12.5 or 13vdc and this charging unit will not work. After using the cheater fuses and being confused to what was going on, I wired my positive to the 12v cigarette lighter/accessory and still had the same issue, which is when I found out that there was too much voltage. FYI - for the ground, I just used a round grommet attached to the wire, and used a self tapping screw into metal supports behind the dash area.
I'm going to get a dash cam wiring kit that steps down the voltage to 5vdc with low voltage protection (since the accessory port always has 12v even when off).

I was inspired by this post and added a charger in my truck today. It's been working well and installation was pretty painless! Definitely worth it if you're pairing this with a wireless Android Auto or Carplay adapter.

I used the same charger as in the original post - I didn't want to risk the issues others had in this thread, though I do wish it was 15 watts.

Why can’t I just plug my Apple wireless charger into the Maverick USB-C port?
Doesn’t that mean no CarPlay?

I'm good with a cord, because I never charge in a vehicle except on our couple road trips a year. My phone lasts all day and then some.

Might try something like this.
DC12V/24V/36V to 12V 4A 48W Buck Voltage Stabilizer Surge Protector Power Supply Regulator for Auto Truck Vehicle Boat Solar System etc…

Wondering if someone will swap the factory charger with this or any other aftermarket charger and notice a difference. Mine will stop charging intermittently due to what? I don't know... Overheating, cheap part etc... It's mild annoyance on long trips to see that I lose battery life. At the minimum, I expect it to maintain the battery charge.
Mine did that too then I did a hard reboot on my iPhone and it’s no longer intermittent. Still it Will barely increase the charge but it at least maintains it which is typically fine.

Has anyone done this and it’s no issue going through the usually orange tray that goes in the cubby?

I tried to install a wireless charger as your post suggested Under $60 wireless charger DIY install in Maverick XL | Page 3 | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions . This was dated in September 2022. I purchased a Maverick 2022 used and it runs great. I wish it had the wireless charger and Sirius XM. Watched your video several times and you mentioned that you opted for fuse 3 - 10a. I must have fat fingers because I cannot get the tap to work. I looked more closely and wondered if you are using fuse 4 instead please advise.

Thanks, sorry I am fat fingered as well, so, can’t tell what is wrong. Those fuses sometimes fuse themselves to the holder. Have resorted to long noise plying tools more then I wish to admit. They are easier to remove once cracked in half…….. just saying some get crushed mostly in frustration.

I got it installed but had to put it in a different way. zIn other words opposite from your picture. It does not work this way and have to play with it tomorrow. I have the xlt and suspect the fuse box is different than the XL.

Same as Den above, I had to plug the fuse tap in 180 degrees rotated of the OP's posted video for fuse #3. Even then, the tap plastic is very close/touching a neighboring fuse (#10, which is for the extended power module). But it does work.

Otherwise install was pretty straight forward. While I had things apart, I also plugged in my dash cam to the spare USB slot that the wireless charger is using.
