I work in IT and have used Forscan a bit. This should be doable. Thinking about maybe offering my services in doing this if I can make a test case work.
There are temp settings in forscan that you can change. Not sure about the time. I think the wheel heats in cycles; heats up and then goes to a cooling period once a threshold temp is reached.
Autel makes pretty good universal ones. If you have a windows laptop and buy the USB to OBD2 cable the free version of forscan works well. They also have versions for iOS and Android.
Just as you were supposed to back up the config for each module (as built format), just do the same to the modules you changed info for as they are now. You can use this to reflash the module back.
If the dealer re-program's a module like the BCM, I would just go back and make the changes...
@LASFIT should revise the resistance in their LED's to compensate.
Anyways, my dealer did the recall after I waited 3 months for a replacement ABS pump.
If you have forscan, you can just turn off the signaling.
Just not that useful for me. Just more stuff on the dash I don't really need. Personal preference I guess; to each there own. I know I'm already speeding LOL.
After modification, I really like mine. Has a nice low rumble at low RPM's, no drone while on the highway, doesn't sound like a fart can, and no more whistle when I occasionally get on it.
I have the same one. Noticed a terrible whistle when I really got on it. Complained to Magnaflow, and they said it was "turbo whistle". I cut off the twin tips, and installed an oval tip and it sounds SOOOO much better; no more whistle and more of a deeper growl.
I've used the brake and key method on a few Ford vehicles including my Mav with the official Motorcraft tool and never had a problem. Just rotated the tires and it worked great.
Also, I would recommend using Fluid Film and use the straw to spray inside it. Clings to metal surfaces, but breathes and keeps water away. I also live in Wisconsin and will be coating the underside and inside all sorts of spots I can to keep the salt away. https://amzn.to/3RA2w1i
