I picked up my Maverick last Wed. I like the truck a lot. Peppy enough for me and very maneuverable. The only problem is the trifold hard bed cover. It seems to be about an inch too short. It leaks at both front corners and at the tailgate on both sides. I can see into the bed by shining a flashlight at the corner of the tailgate. I got the lux package because it included the bed cover so this is very disappointing. I called the dealer this morning but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Also a little disappointing. Wondering if anyone else has run into this problem. It was "in production" for over a month so I'm thinking maybe this was the problem.

I don't think they are meant to be waterproof. Posts people have made here indicate they had to do a bit of weather sealing after installation to close gaps.

I made several adjustment and it’s not water proof. You will get a lot of wet spots toward the rear and the last trifold.

Thanks. I'll see what I can find out.

I have the Ford hard roll up version and they are definitely not meant to be waterproof from just looking at them. I was not expecting them to be but expected them to be better than they are.

I may be wrong but the bed cover isn’t included in the lux package except for First Editions. So since it is an additional $1k charge, could you get the dealer to remove it and refund it if you are not satisfied?

That is correct; the cover is not part of any of Lux package.

I ended up moving my towards the rear, until it was flush with the installed weatherstripping at the front. It actually works pretty good. It also covers the tailgate enough, that the seal on the underside actually works good also.

I agree that the cover is too short for the application.

But if you open your tailgate the 3 rubber seals will get caught everytime. This will mess up your rubber pieces. You can see the rubber seals from the side and after messing with it I left it between the first and second rubber seals.

Fun fact there are slots in the wheel well that lead to the bed for draining? Possible you went through large puddles and had water go back up through in to the bed?

My Gator trifold did great in the rain over the last two days. I did seal my bed except for the two very front side water drain slots towards the cab. And of course I left all the holes in the bed for drainage. But those drain slots from wheel well to bed and vice versa are sealed now. You can see the drain slot right behind the shock on both sides.

You are correct. I guess I was thinking of the spray in bed liner. The cover was a separate accessory. I'm thinking of getting a seal kit and trying that. I would still want a cover but I'm not sure an aftermarket cover would be any better. I would want the bed to be water tight. Otherwise I don't need a bed cover at all

Yup. Going to dealer this week. Rain or car wash. Leaking in front corners.

Good luck with that.
