There should be prop rods on the side that unclip and go in to hold the cover up, you can lock them in place with that. Put the prop rod in and unscrew, slid down on top, and screw it tight so it doesn't move.
ahhh thank you

First of all I am a dummy

I have a 23 hybrid with a Ford tri-fold over the back bed
Whenever I go through the car wash I get water in the bed
Enough water that I have to towel soak it up
I know stop going through power car washes or get a one piece bed cover that fits snug and tight
Am I correct or are there other options?
Thank you
There are 4 places water gets in, If your cover is on tight, 2 on the side and 2 across the back, there seams on the bed plastic trim a little sealer I got black 6 bucks at the hardware fill them in neatly, it won't leak, when I installed my covers on both my mavericks I tighten everything down and wait a week and can always get a turn or two on the clamps when seals compress. theirs a video on the tube from a guy that works at Real truck shows you how to do it try search for it, takes no time and works for me, I had a Ford tri fold on my XLT because at that time nobody was making covers early 22, now have a 25 Lariat with a Chinese hard cover 400 bucks no leaking after I sealed those seams. Am lucky even the most expensive covers leak but you can get 95% dry, I get a drop of water on the back of the tailgate in very very heavy pressure that never makes it to the Bed.

how do you move it? I tried it seems to be 'set in place'? thank you
Move what? I just placed the rubber seal on the side like mcc10403 is pointing to in the picture. Not sure what you are referencing.

I don’t have a part number for the neoprene weatherstrip, but it needs to stick out 3/8”-1/2” from the adhesive. You can find it in rolls at big box and a quick search at retailers.
Quick tip on the strut/rods and brackets that hold up the top. They love to vibrate loose. Tighten the knobs as tight as you can by hand, even when not being used. And unscrew the rods from their swivel mounts, apply a drop of LocTite and replace. Otherwise the next time you go to use them you may find you swept them into the dump with the last load of home remodeling debris. 🤣 Happens so often replacements are all over the interweb.

here is the update: I took everything out of the bed and low and behold one of the drainage tubes was dislodged. I reinserted it. I also took out the flat rubber Maverick flooring so I have the ribbed bottom left. I ran it thru the car wash and the amount of water was less BUT I suspect the two pics up at the cab show where the water is coming in. I now have to figure out the best way to 'plug' that water entry Thank you for reading and looking.

Get a friend and go to the (many) quarter car wash (or use a pressure washer if you have one), climb in the bed with a flashlight, and see where the leaks are coming from. Honestly, IMO, it's almost impossible to keep it water tight.

When I get home from the car wash, I just open the last section and let it air dry.

Dang! On my quarterly/semi annual car or my annual oil change "the works freeby" wash I raise my cover and spray out the bed to get rid of all the dust. Thinking I might spray my bed liner this coming spring with herculiner restore spray or something.
