it's probably because the Gator SFX / Ford soft tri-fold is well designed. It has angled weatherstripping on it that channels water away from the bed, and it fits the bed opening better than the BakFlip MX4.
So would you recommend the Gator SFX soft tri fold cover? I'm looking into covers currently but don't want to break the bank:)

First decent rain last night since getting my Mav in Jan and having significant leaking at the cab end, especially passenger side. Anything adjustable here?

I think I'm just going to take it to the dealership and let them deal with it. Has anyone tried that?

I went to Hone Depot and bought weather stripping and silicone caulk. I used it sparingly and it’s good now.

I have the Ford Tri Fold on my truck and I have very minor leaks. It did leak a bit more before I made 2 adjustments. 1) I untightened the two knobs near the cab and repositioned the cover a little further back to allow the seal at the tailgate to seal better. 2) Inserted a small piece of black closed cell foam into the channel they made on the plastic trim around the bed (pic below).

I also keep anything I don't want to get wet in storage bins with locking lids in the bed, like ropes and tie downs etc.

One question I have is how much paint should be showing below back window to front edge of tonneau cover?
roughly a quarter inch.

Freg what a pain in the butt. I guess it could be a lot worse... Hopefully they don't give me a hard time sikces it's 3- weeks old...
Mine leaks too. Do you know of any options for tape or gasket that I can use to stop the leaks most of it is near the window.
Hey all,

My Mav is about 3 weeks new and I noticed a big water leak where the edge of the seal meets the tail gate. Is this normal? It's a Ford factory trifold install. I'm not talking about some dripping, I'm taking about a significant amount of water penetrating into the box.
Anyone else having this problem?
Suggestions?

Thanks

Yes. What’s the solution.

I'll probably get roasted for this, but I've always felt that my MX4 is 1/2"-3/4" shorter than it should be, to have enough overlap at both ends. I finally decided to slide mine back, to get more overlap at the tailgate, and found this 20 mil thick PVC tape to seal the edge at the window.

I have no idea. My suggestion is to bring it up to the dealership if that's where you purchased it. There should be some consistency through these things, not some leak and some don't.
Just my opinion tho 😊

Mine leaked pretty good in the corners up next to the cab when I first bought it, after messing with it multiple times and readjusting it I finally just ran a bead of silicone around lip underneath. Haven’t had any problems since. Of course this only really works if you don’t have any plans on taking it off.

I think since it's a Ford product they should all work the same which means no leaks to me. I'll see what they say when I drop it off on Thursday for another recall...
