Depends. I just got a travel trailer this week and needed a 2" rise. FYI with a 4" rise you can not drop your tailgate all the way.

I bought a similar item. Used it twice in three years. Covers most hitch and ball sizes. Handy when needed.Hi,
Should I get a straight trailer hitch,
something like this?

I will be towing very rarely. My brother-in-laws log splitter and a very small/light utility trailer.
Thanks (2023 XLT hybrid)
( I did a search here but difficult to find an answer)
Something to consider, with a 2" drop ball mount, I can open my tailgate, with the trailer attached, without damaging the tailgate. Hate to see you be surprised if you drop the tailgate, and cause damage.

I got the Amazon: Weigh Safe Fixed Height Ball Mount to go with the Gen-Y Hitch posted in #26.Weigh Safe ball mounts are way cool!
SorryI was feeling really manly, towing stuff with my Maverick, until Glenn Baker LLC made me feel totally inadequate![]()
I agree drop hitch works best for meI tow things like utility trailers and log splitters. A Curt 2” ball with 2” drop stays on the Maverick all the time. 2” drop is about perfect for everything I do. However, I think a straight hitch would still be usable for you.
