Depends. I just got a travel trailer this week and needed a 2" rise. FYI with a 4" rise you can not drop your tailgate all the way.

Something to consider, with a 2" drop ball mount, I can open my tailgate, with the trailer attached, without damaging the tailgate. Hate to see you be surprised if you drop the tailgate, and cause damage.

It's not the ball that is the problem it is the crank on my trailer that would hit the tail gate with a short receiver. Also hate to see you are suprised

Here's my new B&W hitch, being installed Thursday. Enough for 14,000lbs.

I had to pull the trailer off the property and down the mountain, before we really got snowed in.
From our security cameras, this was last Wednesday before I got the hitch installed.

Luckily it warmed up Friday and Saturday.

The right truck and hitch for the job.
So much for compensating...🤐

Do you need a B&W hitch on a Maverick towing 2000 lb or less probably not.

I tow things like utility trailers and log splitters. A Curt 2” ball with 2” drop stays on the Maverick all the time. 2” drop is about perfect for everything I do. However, I think a straight hitch would still be usable for you.
I agree drop hitch works best for me
