Going to try the battery disconnect tomorrow, thanks
Why wouldn't you try adding air to your tires first?
The TPMS "receiver" has the correct pressure programmed. That pressure number can't be altered by disconnecting the battery.

Thinking of a test.
I'll drop the air pressure on one of my tires to 26psi knowing that, while I drive it will increase in pressure. I'm looking for a Target of 30 PSI warm. We'll see if it triggers a warning light.

I have a 2024 Maverick. With the colder weather we have had the tpms light came on. I inflated all tires to recommended pressure and drove it down the road, but light is still on. Is there a way to reset the system?
There is a manual reset procedure. See manual. Drive truck around block to turn on TPMS Then within 15-20 minutes you turn accessory on & off several times get "tpms reset msg" on dash then starting with drivers front let air out of tire until horn Toots (about 9 lbs, if I remember correctly). Then go to Passenger front do same then passenger rear repeat letting air out, then do drivers rear all until they each toot. (You much finish all 4 tires within the time before the toms go to sleep). Was in 2022 manual. Also low tire dash lights up at 26psi.
ETA: Found this. Way to put truck into tpms learn can vary model year, it appears....
Steps for Ford Maverick TPMS Reset (Manual Method):
  • Preparation: Ensure all tires are inflated to the proper PSI (35-40 PSI depending on trim/load).
  • Activate Learn Mode: Turn ignition to OFF, then press/release the brake pedal.
  • Ignition Cycle: Cycle the ignition from OFF to RUN 3 times, ending in RUN.
  • Confirm Mode: The horn will beep once, and the display will say "Train Left Front Tire".
  • Train Sensors: Go to the driver-front tire, let air out for 10-15 seconds (or use the tool) until the horn beeps.
  • Clockwise Rotation: Repeat for the front-right, rear-right, and rear-left.
  • Finish: The horn will beep twice when finished.

Thank you James for doing the research and posting, good information. 👍🏻
It appears the OP is going to have to add air to his tires to start the procedure.

The implication is that if you set the tpms with 35 psi and my low tire comes on at 26, I wonder if I set my tpms with 40 psi in tires will my low tire light up on dash at 40-9=31psi???. Have to put that on my to do list, I guess....

This is the relearn tool I use that works with the either the Manual or Forscan Relearn methods:

Mike,
Wouldn't a warm tire pressures of 30 and 31 be considered low?
Wouldn't that put his cold tire pressure around 26-28 psi ?
Ugh - I couldn't get picture to enlarge enough to read them. Well, without downloading it.
Not malfunctioning at all.

Don't worry about the system reset disconnecting negative.
That's for when you have a bogus error on the screen, and just need to power cycle the computers.

You don't have a bogus error.
Legit as Glenn saw.
Take care of the known issue first.

Don't even worry about relearning wheel locations.

Also there are some tpms that have different frequencies so check that if replacing.

Do you have a cell phone charger cord, or phone plugged in . Sometimes that gives RF and messes up sensor to computer/readout.

Thank you for posting the picture.
Picture of dashboard
tire pressure.webp
It showed me everything I needed to know.
I'm glad it was only air that was needed. 👍🏻👍🏻
Remember, if you ever get a no-read/ meaning a blank for one of your sensors. See my picture below 👇🏻
It doesn't necessarily mean that the sensor is bad, especially during the first five years.
Most jump to the conclusion the sensor is bad. That's not necessarily correct.
