There is nothing forcing you to have TPMS in your tires. But you will have to deal with the TPMS warning lights on your dash. Maybe put a tiny bit of tape over that part of the dash. Haha. Like people who detach the Check Engine Light "bulb".

The tire shop couldn’t put my sensors back in when I swapped from the steelies to an aftermarket wheel. I needed a bigger spacer in the sensors. So now I have the light on and it blinks, and you have to hit OK when you get in because there’s a warning message in the dash that won’t go away telling you all your tires are flat.

I don’t mind it but it would drive other nuts.

I just keep my original wheels and tires stacked in the garage next to the truck. Every time I park next to them the truck seems them and is happy. No tpms light or warning driving it back and forth to work 12 miles each way. It does give a warning if you drive for around 15 or 20 miles on one key cycle. The truck finally recognizes the sensors are missing and triggers the warnings in that scenario. When that happens I can reset everything to normal just by parking next the original wheels and tires in the garage.

Question about TPMS on Maverick, does it give you an individual read out of each wheel. For example Right front 33, left front 31, etc, or is it just a general one that it will tell you if one of the tires is low and no reading?

I really miss my VW and the no dumb sensors, such a better way of doing it.
