Got the one sensor replaced now another one has gone out on a different wheel. AI says early Maverick owners report TPMS batteries dying on early production trucks (Feb of 22 on mine). Same crap reset only worked on 3 but a different wheel.

A Ford tech told someone here that the batteries typically last 4-5 years on the TPMS sensors.

Supposedly 10 years (from date of battery production) or 125,000 miles whichever comes first.). Good idea to replace TPMS at time of tire replacement with those limits in mind!!!

Two things impact those numbers, climate and type of driving. 90% of our driving is city which is bad on sensors and really hot weather degrades battery life (lithium). We are 95 all summer in South Carolina. Having said that my BMW has 12 year old sensors and no problems. I think Ford cheaped out on components to hit a price point. AI says 5 years for sensors batteries but AI is wrong a lot.

You have the exact industry standard down perfectly. Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors typically last 5 to 10 years or roughly 100,000 to 125,000 miles.
Because the lithium-ion batteries inside the sensors are sealed in a molded plastic casing, they cannot be replaced individually. When the battery dies, the entire TPMS sensor must be replaced.
Someone posted , I think on this site, a diy tpms battery replacement procedure similar to diy gall bladder surgery (🤫😁).

The process is simple but I’m 73 and I’m not taking off tires, deflating and pulling it away from the rim , taking an old one off, buying new ones, putting back on and f___ing up the wheel and or tire. My back can’t handle that. I had Mavis do one but now I’m going back and negotiating a better deal to do the other 3.

Hmmm? I'm 83! I could just buy 2,000 shares of Ford stock tomorrow for $12.00/sh and sell it for $12.12/sh then buy 4 senders installed and a latte!🤗
