How dare you correct me!Nope!
Actually, “pegging” a meter, gauge, etc is doing that which is necessary to make the needle go to its mechanical extreme. That is, the needle, not that which is being measured.

Same hereState Farm offered me a discount for a plug in monitor on my vehicles and I said nooooooo!![]()
But my interpretation of "pegging" a speedo is running it to the max where the ecu cuts the engine out...after a tune you can reach a higher speed on the speedo...no doubt there. Just a different definition of the same word I guess! Pegging an undervalued gauge on another piece of equipment may be something else indeed.Nope!

I got an 84 E150 to 110 or so but the speedo only went to 85. The needle didnt have a stop it just kept going round. I also was timing the mile markers for near accuracy.Every car I’ve ever had had Speedo that went higher then the car would run stock. Go figure.
LOL, it doesn't matter, the base price of the truck is 20k. You're paying for all of the upgrades and add ons but the fact of the matter is that a 20k truck still has the same shitty paint job as the 36k truck, among other things. While I agree with most of what you said the msrp on the two I ordered was more like $36k each.
Couldn't agree with you more on the paint from Ford on my other vehiclesLOL, it doesn't matter, the base price of the truck is 20k. Don't worry, we had this discussion in another thread, I have leased/owned 7 cars from 4 different manufacturers in the last 13 years and they have ALL had the same horrible waterbased paint that is required nowadays due to EPA regulations. I had a late 80s Honda Civic in college and the paint on it was amazing compared to the garbage water based paint I've had on every recent vehicle I've leased or owned. Unfortunately if you care about your paint, paint protection film is a necessary and very expensive evil.Couldn't agree with you more on the paint from Ford on my other vehicles![]()
The Toyota Yaris also has a 140 mph speedometer. Does anyone in their right mind think it will do it.Of course.... No other reason to put 140 on the speedometer if it can't
No judging here. I was young and dumb. . Surprised I've made it this long.Mine are rated for 160... More then the speedometer. I was on open road in Arizona... Wouldn't do that on city streets
Agree. Involved in a line of Ford vehicles they wanted to save money on. Decided to save money on tires the had us speed limit the vehicle to 128 mph. Capable of 145+Tire speed ratings are the problem for sure on a lot of vehicles!
DO NOT GOOGLE THISYou mean 140.... What is pegging?
A 1986 Mustang LX 5.0L was slightly quicker than the Mustang GT, probably because it weighed a bit less without the ground effects and spoilers. The 1986 Mustang LX 5.0L would do a 0-60 mph in 6.2 secs according to Car and Driver magazine. The GT did it in about 6.5 secs. It wasn't until 1985 that the Mustangs and Camaros got a boost in power. The pre-85's were slower 0-60 than the Maverick Ecoboost. The Hybrid Maverick would have given them a run. Can't remember but Mav EB's are running similar 0-60's as 80's Z28's and Mustang GT's. Mavs with AWD that is. Not too bad.
