I am simply not going to drive 55 in an 80, 70 or even a 60 zone I am not going to be that guy with everyone stacked up behind me flipping me off thinking Im just a nut behind the wheel. I use 87 octane because the 93 has the same amount of ethanol as the 87 and its the ethanol that kills the mpg not the octane

Just do the speed limit, if they want to do 80 in a 65 it's on them. I have nuts that get irritated with me for not racing up to a stop light, I don't care.

What I hate are the hypermilers who coast up to a red light a 1/2 mile in advance, when there's a left turn lane with an arrow that turns green before the straight ahead light turns green. And I'm stuck behind a hypermiler who wants to Coast to a green light. And doesn't care that other people are trying to get on with their lives and get somewhere.

I'll save some gas and get there a few minutes later. If I want to get there earlier, I'll leave earlier.

I used to do between 75 and 80 through Atlanta in a diesel dually pulling a 24' trailer and got smoked! They're nuts down there!

Unfortunately, that behavior doesn't cease at the Atlanta city limits...

On I-40 a couple of days ago, 3 cars were playing road rage roulette that blew by me doing 100+.
About 10 minutes later 2 were pulled over and the State Troopers were cuffing the second driver.
The other guy was already in the cruiser. Maybe the third car slowed down, or the officer couldn't pull off a trifecta..

I saw videos of spiteful people opening doors while motorcycles were lane splitting .

I found that practice extremely dangerous, and when I experienced it for the first time, it scared the crap out of me. Very loud Harleys coming up on you while you're stopped was crazy.

I always set the cruise control 5 mph over the speed limit.

A comment on towing speeds: For Commercial Trucking the rating for tires, brakes, hitches and things is 105 KM/h or about 65 MPH. Commercial trucks that tow at speeds here in BC of over 120 KM/h (78 mph) good luck stopping on the mountain roads, many have not. Driving that speed on retreaded tires is suicidal. In BC now Commercial Trucks are REQUIRED to have speed limiters installed, operational and set to 105 Km/h! We have had a lot of trouble with trucks going way too fast. There are tire caps all over our highways.

Towing RV type trailers at speeds over 105 km/h (65 mph) is not great. Those electric brakes are just not up to the task of stopping heavy trailers at those speeds. Trailer tires here have odd ratings compared to the same tires rated in the EU, 105 KM/h EU, up to "S" passenger tire ratings here!

I'm certain I will get flamed for this, but Oh Well.

Tom, I drive my motorhome 65 everywhere at about 7.5, sometimes 8 MPG. (diesel 40 footer). I tried 80 mph for fun a few years back. Got 5-6 MPG! No thanks. Be careful in Denver area. Passed a new law a few years back. If you drive the speed limit and most of the other traffic is running 5-10 MPH over the limit, YOU are the one who gets the ticket! Yeah it's crazy over there. Too fast-get ticket. Too slow-get ticket. Drive speed limit-get ticket??
