  1. Just ordered custom plates!

My 2024 Maverick Lariat Grabber Retirement Edition!
  2. Need advice on making vintage looking style

Gave tribute to the old Grabber package with mine. Added black tailgate lettering, "Retirement Edition badge and Turbo emblems on the hood. Also did the red paint treatment to the calipers and rotor hubs. What has brought several questions at the cruise nights is the Lincoln engine cover. I...
  3. How many have needed to tow a trailer.

I tow this rig 4-6 time/year. The heavy load shown here happens twice on a May weekend and tips up around 3200-3600 depending on the number of tables required for the event. Tows this load every bit as good as did my F150.
  4. What Was Your First Maverick Mod—and Was It Actually Worth It?

Three cans of paint and masking tape! Then designed and had the stickers made at the local sign shop. You could say, though, the "Retirement Edition" badge was first. It came in before the truck. The first I bought in the true accessory sense after taking delivery was the tailgate damper...
  5. Bret Got Rear Ended

That's why I have front and rear dash cams. It's getting crazy out there! Makes for some good vids to put up on my YouTube Channel too! BTW, my Maverick's name is also Bret... What Is This Guy Thinking?
  6. Did you or will you add mudflaps?

When I ordered mine in March 2024, there was an option. Yes, I checked the box. No regrets so far!
  7. Bedside Graphic Stripes

I painted the stripes, hood and grille bar on mine similarly the day after taking delivery. Had a local sign shop make the stickers then had the paint coated the next week. They have some fairly cool stuff there!
  8. 2026 - lane KEEPING vs lane CENTERING

You'll toss that lane keeping crap the first time you go to avoid a "gator" or other trash in the middle of your lane and find how hard it fights you! I don't mind the "Stick Shaker" one bit if I happen to get a little close to either line but I think I'll make the directional decisions, thank...
  9. Tested the 4K tow package by towing 25' pontoon boat

Pulled this load annually with 3 different trucks. A 2001 Dodge 1500/360, a 2013 F150/3.5 Ecoboost and most recently, Bret the Maverick, 2024 Ecoboost. Actually, Bret does the best job overall. Doesn't handle any worse than the two bigger trucks, probably because of the lower center of...
  10. Anyone else out there make regular use of N?

That actually uses more gas than coasting in drive. Above certain speed, somewhere around 30 mph, the fuel injectors are actually shut off while coasting in drive so you're using 0 fuel. I've actually seen my temperature gauge move toward cold when coasting down the mountain roads on the WV...
  11. Hauling riding lawn mower?

Got mine in there but w/o the 42" deck for a cruise night last year. Hauled it fine but when I really need to keep it in tact, I have a 16' trailer that gets the job more than done. I don't even think about hauling the snow blower unit but my F150 required hooking up to the trailer as well.
  12. Fuel Type and carbon buildup on the valves

I've written articles on ethanol as a racing fuel, first published in 2005. Did a LOT of research in the process with lots of ongoing testing in both carbureted and electronic fuel injected vehicles. Ethanol only leaves deposits if it evaporates. It is my carb cleaner (E85) of choice as it...
  13. Tpms question?

On a similar note, I'm thinking of mounting a set of Bullit wheels on mine and know I'll need the correct sensors. Wondering if the new sensors would be automatically recognized or have to be programmed. Also, has anyone tried fitting the late model Mustang wheels to our trucks? Have also...
  14. Rodent vs soy based wiring

Be careful with mint oil if you have cats. It is poison to them! But, I know from experience the mice won't go near it! Just keep it fresh!
  15. Name Something Your Truck Hauled That Made People Stare

I hauled this Orange County Chopper in mine last year.
  16. Name Something Your Truck Hauled That Made People Stare

    Last Cruise night last year...
  17. https://www.autostopeliminator.com

I have theirs on mine plus my wife's Nautilus. Excellent product. I don't trust the cheap China add on stuff with automotive electronics. Plus, in my 24 Ecoboost, the installation was killer easy connecting in series with the diagnostic connector. No trim parts were threatened in the process!
  18. Trailer Light Module Recall

The letter was waiting for me when I got home from picking up my trailer Wednesday! The left Stop/Turn signal light on the trailer was inop so that was my first thought. of course! But, alas, it was just a burned out bulb. All worked as it should over the weekend as I moved the seasonal...
  19. Unhood Insulation

I used to regularly drive this so I think our Utes are quite the quiet ride! Disturbing The Peace
  20. This single tip saves 20% gas!

I used to do between 75 and 80 through Atlanta in a diesel dually pulling a 24' trailer and got smoked! They're nuts down there!
