First off, there were several thousand MY22 orders that did not get built - some were rolled over to MY23's when FORD decided that they couldn't build all the orders that were placed. In November there were about 7,000 (if I remember correctly) orders that had been given build dates and VIN #'s that FORD decided they couldn't build in a reasonable time - these orders were all then cancelled and re-entered as MY23 orders by FORD. Truthfully, FORD should not have opened the order banks in September for the MY23's as they hadn't even come close to building all the MY22's - and there were so many orders placed in September that they closed the order banks after about four days or so. So in all likelihood, the 3 trucks you say your dealer has on the lot are special order MY22 carry-overs that didn't get built (converted to MY23's) and with such a long wait the original buyers decided not to take them. If you read through this forum you'll find many, many folks that have been waiting 400+ days and still don't have a truck - including me (480 days). FORD also had a requirement that all these orders had to be sold to the person that ordered them, so the likelihood that dealers had their staff order trucks for stock probably didn't happen very often. Supposedly doing this could impact a dealer's allocations. Any trucks that weren't claimed by the person that ordered them then became available for the dealer to sell at whatever price they thought they could get.So would a person that does understand mind educating the poor guy that doesn't?
Good summary. I'll bet the trucks the OP is posting about are almost certainly "rollover 22s" that the original customer abandoned. Even if simply based on the fact they are on the lot at this point. Both stock and "first ordered in 23" trucks are barely rolling off the line, let alone making it to dealer lots yet.First off, there were several thousand MY22 orders that did not get built - some were rolled over to MY23's when FORD decided that they couldn't build all the orders that were placed. Ford has produced and delivered many thousand 23s, and most of them have been "first ordered in 23" trucks. Also, stock orders are not rolling off the line. Both stock and "first ordered in 23" trucks are barely rolling off the line, let alone making it to dealer lots yet.
This is very simple…I was told by the dealer that every Maverick order they have they prioritized them a 12.
Many thousand across many thousand dealerships does not equal 3 at this one dealer available for sale. I'll bet money these are not fresh 23s.Ford has produced and delivered many thousand 23s, and most of them have been "first ordered in 23" trucks. Also, stock orders are not rolling off the line.
The vast majority of built and delivered 23 Mavericks are fresh orders, not rollovers. The statement "only 10% of the 23 Mavericks produced so far are rollovers, so it is most likely that these at the dealer are rollovers" makes little sense. Many thousand across many thousand dealerships does not equal 3 at this one dealer available for sale. The one other issue that is occurring is that the cancelled and rollover orders are not always as produced as they should be. Since Ford changed package contents, like what is in the Lariat Lux (6 items were removed in the 2023 Lux package that were in the 2022 Lux package) some folks are likely rejecting their trucks as things were missing. If you left the rollover or cancel/reorder up to the dealer, a lot of screwups were made. The most common seems to be the failure to check the box for the new Copilot 360 Assist package (where Adaptive Cruise and rear parking sensors reside).Good summary. Shrug. Doesn't change my thoughts on this specific situation. If dealerships didn't priority code their "rollovers" (term used loosely since they weren't actually rollovers) properly so they got produced before fresh 23s, thats an entirely different conversation. The vast majority of built and delivered 23 Mavericks are fresh orders, not rollovers. The statement "only 10% of the 23 Mavericks produced so far are rollovers, so it is most likely that these at the dealer are rollovers" makes little sense.
This is likely not true. FORD produced about 20,000+ Mavericks in December, January, and February as MY23's. There were at least 7,000 MY22 orders with VIN's that were cancelled and then re-entered as MY23's - this was done in November just before MY23 production started. There were likely as many or more MY22 orders that had already been rolled over to MY23. That's at least 2/3's of the production. Yes there have been a good number of 'new' MY23 orders produced, but I would venture a guess that the majority of the delivered trucks up to the end of February were roll-overs. FORD 'suggested' to the dealers that they prioritize the roll-overs as 10 and the 'new' orders as 15. Most certainly some dealers didn't do this, but a large percentage did.The vast majority of built and delivered 23 Mavericks are fresh orders, not rollovers. Even if they did put them in as 10, that carries little weight.FORD 'suggested' to the dealers that they prioritize the roll-overs as 10 and the 'new' orders as 15. Most certainly some dealers didn't do this, but a large percentage did.
I agreeMy dealer has 3 trucks on the lot 5k over MRSP --one of them includes 3 "constraint" items -2 are identical to my order except color. This is not right.
