Outside of floor mats and a bed liner I opted for the co-pilot. As I get older I need that contraption to make me a safer driver.....I also got better mirrors and a larger spare tire.

The last 3 vehicles I bought for my wife had blind spot monitoring and the last one also has lane keep assist. I personally don’t see a benefit but she won’t drive without it because her eyesight is not 100%. Having driven her vehicles I like the Blind spot but lane keep drives me insane and I always turn it off. I decided against 360 for me - didn’t think it was worth the $600 - and the wife won’t want to drive my Mav. šŸ˜†

We’ll see if you regret that decision if your wife has to drive you to the hospital in your Mav.

360 is a crutch IMO for people not actually looking around like they should.

That said, it came on my off the lot Mav purchase and while it will light up when a car is in the right area for the sensors it does nothing that a good spot mirror would do for you such as following up when turning around objects too small for 360 to see such as poles in drive throughs. The same in aiding with a trailer.

I found some small convex spotters and installed them on my mirrors and it's much better.
I'm just curious, how would a spot mirror help you in a parking lot? If you are parked at Walmart or something with a car on both sides of you, that little mirror won't tell you what's around the car next to you. Not backing out into another car or someone pushing their cart is the biggest reason for this system. It's literally the only reason I got it. Not the lane assist, not the blind spot, just cross traffic alert.

A lot of strange posts in this thread. BSM does the same thing as a mirror? Driver assistance features kill more people than they save? Where do people come up with these things?

First off, BSM doesn't take the place of mirrors or checking your mirrors. It isn't intended to be a "oh the lights off so I'm good to change lanes" function. The people who use it that way are morons who would be even more dangerous without the system - so trying to blame the system for driver incompetence is a silly conclusion.

Second, BSM's key components are radar sensors on each side of the rear bumper (in most cars, and I assume the Maverick). There is no way a mirror is capable of the same thing in every situation. Yes, a proper mirror check and glance over the shoulder will do "the same thing" by revealing what is in your blind spot. But BSM systems go well beyond this. If there is a car approaching in another lane at a greater speed than you, BSM will turn on the light way before the car is in the blind spot. Also, cross traffic will alert you to cars (and people, in my experience) that you cannot see with mirrors until possibly too late.

And last - if you're concerned about "too much tech" going wrong.. you probably shouldn't be buying any 2022 vehicle of any trim level.
The "Quote" function on this forum is there so somebody can "Quote" exactly what was said, not insert what ever they wish. Also so that one knows they have been taken out of context or have a chance to clarify what they said, if needed. It's oh so easy to twist what was said without the "Quote".

It's apparent you missed that everything I said was in the context of TEXTING WHILE DRIVING. And based on what myself and many of us put up with on a daily basis with drivers who text - - I stand behind everything I said.! If you are a "Texting Driver" then of coarse you will be offended. If you're not, then there shouldn't be anything to be upset with. If you think my post was about "Technology" you didn't read it.

Again, any technology that assists a driver in driving is fine with me and I'm sure most on this form too. If the technology is misused to assist a driver to text while driving then people are going to get hurt or killed -- and I'm sorry if anyone can't understand that. If somebody needs this technology to drive then they shouldn't be driving. Turn signals were introduced in 1939 and people still don't know how and when to use them. So call it "Silly" but I can come to a "Conclusion" that the "System" will just give the "morons" more confidence to Drive and Text. Please explain how "morons" - "would be even more dangerous without the system"?

I came from a 2002 Accord where the only safety features were seatbelts and airbags. Like most, I thought all these doo-dads were useless. I've driven over 150,000 miles in a variety of vehicles at this point without so much as a scratch from someone else.

That being said, I don't understand all the hate for these additional safety features. They should be used in addition to, not instead of, you paying attention. And for $500 or whatever it is, it's a damn good deal to have that additional peace of mind.

Well, for one, my head swivels like most mammals does so I look from side to side before I begin backing. And , two, the Mav has this incredible invention called windows that I can see through when I do #1 allowing me to scan for other cars or people pushing carts.

Congratulations! It sounds like you have had the good fortune to never be parked by a panel truck that blocks your view of what is coming down the aisle.

Because if you ever had, you might realize that a warning system that tells you if some yahoo is speeding down the aisle behind that panel truck is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Without reading through the entire thread I can tell you, don't cancel it. I promise you in less than 3 weeks, the system warned me at least half a dozen times when I was backing out, this alone is worth the money. The blindside warning is a great and useful plus. Lane keep assistant is worthless and you can shut it off. On top of that, I got my spare tire included, so alltogether well worth the 500 bucks.

Thinking of dropping Cp360 in my xlt hybrid order, Is it helpful even? Heard some negatives on it I’m just wondering how effective it is in lane centering and blind spot monitoring.

Looking for owners experiences.
I know the mirrors light up but does it alert you any other way?
I went into my dealer the other day to upgrade from an xl to an xlt and this point, there’s no way to make changes on hybrid orders from what I was told. Any time anything is changed, it throws an error ā€œhybrid engineā€

I would not delete this option. If it saves you from an accident only once it will more than pay for itself. Have it on another vehicle and feel like it is a good back up for assisting me to be a more informed driver. Line centering is okay, as the steering wheel reminds you if you are leaving the center of the lane. It isn't as good as my Subaru, but for only $540.00 it is well worth the price and it will save you money on insurance as this option will be identified in your VIN number. It will also help you as resale option in the future.

I have this on my order though I have never had a vehicle with any of this tech. The newest car I have owned was a 2012. I am a safe driver, heck I got my Army Drivers Badge in S. Korea and I swore I would be in an accident there within 5 minutes of being forced behind the wheel, that was like driving in a video game! Almost/maybe as bad here in Italy. That said I have had a number of close calls in my life, and never because I was texting while driving. Why is that the scenario? I have nearly wiped out a motorcyclist I just didn't see and had cars get into my blind spot shortly after I had checked. Granted, I probably drive more than most so maybe I have just increased odds for that to happen, but to think it can't just because you are an alert driver is foolish, or you never leave your 1 stop sign town.

The potential insurance break, well that is a perk I don't figure in. I do think this will get passed down to my daughter when she starts driving and I know I feel better about her having that tech down the road both for her safety and others.

Personally I am excited to have this on a vehicle for once.

I agree this is so worth it. Blind spot solidly lit and flashing depending on circumstance. It even warned me of a cyclist I could not see as the sun went down. The cross traffic alert is even better as one can't see around vehicles and you get the beeper sound as who is looking at the instrument cluster while backing up. Neither system is perfect but in addition to good driving it's a no brainer. People drive crazy these days.

The lane keeping assist can get annoying and is really there if you are not fully paying attention. The nudge of the wheel in the direction you need to turn is funky at times and on back roads it is a bit over zealous as you make wider or rapid turns.

Wouldn't order a vehicle without it for sure and I've never had one with these features until now.

My wife's car has it. I like it a lot. I added it to my XL I have on order. Well worth the price to me.

I changed my hybrid order in December from XLT with lux to Lariet with lux, which forced me to get CP 360. A that time, my dealer said I could change it until it goes to production which may not happen until summer. I probably wont mind having it but I did not want to pay for it.

The more options you have the more constraints you might encounter getting in the way of your scheduled for production build date. I'm just saying
I'm not sure this is true - not sure how Ford selects builds but my Hybrid XLT LUX with 360 and Tonneau and Spray in Bed liner is in production this week. Ordered in August. I'm ahead of anticipation?? Happy but? What's up Ford?
