That's really good advice. I usually pull through and drive-through if I can. After 2 accidents backing up, I'm one of those backward challenged dudes. I need the cross traffic alert to help with my inattention deficit. Really looking forward to the copilot 360 features. But I recognize we need to learn what is around us and use the mirrors correctly - I just have issues.
The "pull through" is what's usually advised by most insurance companies. I'll do it myself occasionally.
I'm not 'anti-tech". But it's an accessory to be used along with good driving habits, not instead of like many are using it for.

This thread has me curious, do the XLT or Lariat have power mirrors without the lux or Co-pilot 360 package? I got to test-drive an XL that didn't have power mirrors, but assumed it was just the base package lacking.

Edit: found the answer in the Exterior Features details section - both XLT and Lariat show the power exterior mirrors w/ Spotter Glass standard.

Yes. XLT and Lariat have power mirrors standard. The XL will come with power mirror if you add the 360 package.

Coming from a 2009 that doesnt have any bells and whistles, im going for the 360. I know im a good driver, i know ive never needed this tech. But for the price i figure its worth adding as another layer of protection, especially now that i have a kid in the backseat.

I can tell you that blind spot detection saved my butt more than once wouldn't give it up in my Maverick order, if I ever get it.

Ever noticed how many perfect drivers there are online? Funny that over the last 50 years I never seem to meet them on the road - I always encounter the imperfect ones. And I'm one of the imperfect ones myself. And even on my better driving days I can get distracted.

Another pithy military saying seems appropriate for all these self-labeled "perfect" drivers: "His s--- doesn't stink".
Amen, brother. If I live 10 more days I'll by 81 years old; I need all the help I can get! My wife just bought a '22 Hyundai Palisade [sp?] and I really like some of the safety tech it has...

The CP360 is a must-have for me. We do a fair amount of distance driving and having had most of the features on my 2018 Escape driving it was the first thing I looked for on the Maverick. The Adaptive CC and Blind spot monitoring makes for a much more relaxing ride since I don't have to monitor the brake or speed in traffic, or guess about when it's safe to change lanes. I don't really use the lane keeping assist much as I find it kind of an annoyance, but it seems it may be a bit different on the Mav. I also love the cross traffic alert which most often comes into play when backing out of a parking spot and someone walks behind or a car approaches. I don't know if it has ever actually saved an accident but it has saved getting cussed out.

For those on this thread.. lane keep assist never worked for me, this is even after I changed sensitivity level to high and try to cross lanes without turn signal at all speeds. Not even a steering wheel shake. I think I will probably take it to dealer for a fix.

My wife recently bought a Hyundai Palisade which has lane assist [not sure what they call it]. I've tried it a few times and it just very gently steers you back between the lines. But from my very brief efforts it appears that the angle of attack between your path and the line has to be VERY small; maybe in the one or two degree level. But I didn't try it enough to really find out as my wife was in the car having kittens with fear that I was going to wreck her new car!!!

This will be my first vehicle with this technology. I have an open mind about it even though I'm not young. :) Blind spot assistance and cross traffic alert seem like great features. I'm a little perplexed by lane assist or lane centering (whatever it's called). I've never been in a situation where drifting over into the next lane (either me or another driver near me) was the cause or could have been the cause of an accident. Intentionally moving over because they didn't check the blind spot? Yes, absolutely, but not just drifting over. (Unless falling asleep or under the influence.) Makes you wonder if it's for less attentive drivers (on their phones, etc.)

I recently had a similar thought when someone in this forum said how much they like adaptive cruise control (yes, I know it's not part of 360), and they would be afraid of rear ending someone if they went back to a vehicle without it. Seriously? Sounds like an excuse not to pay attention.

I have a Kia Carnival which has identical technology as Palisade. The lane keep is very consistent regardless of angle. The switch-off is turn signal.

Excellent plan! I try to do that too.

Unfortunately, people then come and park next to me.

So far I haven't come up with a way to prevent that...
I'm going to buy some orange cones and place them in the empty parking spaces around my vehicle. 🤷‍♀️ might work.

Definitely more cost to repair/replace and a couple of hundred to recalibrate after windshield replaceme too. We have it on my wifes bronco sport and love it. Wheel vibrates if you go outside of your lane. Does it too if you don’t signal and change lanes. Do it enough and it will tell you to take a break, lol.
