I try to keep my Maverick post positive, because it is an amazing pickup truck. The one naggging issue I have had has been the water leak in the passenger footwell. At least a dozen different owners on this site have had varying degrees of this leak in their Mavericks. Are these trucks exceptions, were they assembled wrong? Is there a bigger quantity issue? Here is my experience over the past 6 months.

Just a guess...inspect the moisture duct from the AC unit. Condensations from the AC occurs when the defroster is activated as well as its cooling function. That moisture usually ends up on the driveway or if the tube is compromised it might flow on the inside firewall and drop down behind the carpet on the passenger floor. Good luck.

The only fixes I saw were from the air intake leaking. I have the same issue and my dealer is just keeping it in the back untouched according to the GPS and low battery alerts. I've seen it moved once in a week for less than an hour. They claim they tried soaking it in the car wash area but can't reproduce. This is the second time I've dropped it off and usually keep it in the garage so the water leak would probably happen more often. The ford rep on the website opened a case for me so I'm hoping they can help get something done although I am concerned about all the water being near the electrical parts up front and the smell of mold I've been dealing with.

The drain tube could be disconnected.

Mine was fixed by replacing a deflector under the cowl. Was installed wrong from the factory. Water was coming in through thr AC fresh air intake and soaking through the cabin filter. See below thread.

I actually used your case to push mine. I gave the dealership and the leak specialist the links to all the leak cases on this forum and they stated they were all different and inconclusive. Your issue I suspect got resolved in a similar manner to mine, by chaulking the plastic piece under the cowl. I believe this piece helps wisk water away and brings air into the cabin. I am sure there's an underlying reason why only a small amount of vehicles are being affect. I was trying to help ford get to bottom of this issue so they could eliminate it for everyone going forward, but I was not able to latch on to someone who cared enough to see it through. It's a shame because in the end they're further damaging their brands perceived reliability. Because of this issue Ford has dropped significantly in my overall brand loyalty.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Hope this does not come back, will have to see next time it rains. If this helps anyone they could only reproduce after it sat in the extended rain at the dealership and sealed under the windshield cowl.

Well it came back, not sure what to do with a moldy maverick every time it rains now. Can't sell unless I want to take a $5k loss.

Thank you so much for posting this. I've been trying for the better part of a year to get my dealer to find my leak and they just keep sending it back. Ford needs to put out a service bulletin covering this issue.

There's not nearly as much water as before, but the carpet underlayment was damp after heavy rain so it is on the right track but was not a perfect fix yet.

Here is mine. Only difference on mine is they actually replaced the cowl grill screen part number LJ6Z18D395B.

What is the scenario where it develops and gets noticed? I've rarely driven in the rain with only 750 miles on mine (Aug '23 build).

Is there a way I could use a hose to test?

Based on my experience, i am surprised that the reaction from Ford wasn't "don't park like that".
