Ohhh, you wanted the simple version?

You can use your voice to verbally change all the AC controls without taking either hand off the wheel or either eye off the road. Much safer than either set of controls. :)

Regarding the controls: the further you look down your dashboard, the more your eyes are off the road and the more dangerous it is.
Nah, the longer your eyes are off the road, the more dangerous.
The feel of real buttons means you can glance down to put finger on controls and keep eyes up while fingers do work.

Touchscreens are notorious for people having to look at them much longer to perform the same function.

Sure voice commands would be nice, plenty of times those don't work at all, and lots of people aren't accustomed to using them and/or won't want to. So on average, touchscreen will cause the roads to be more dangerous.

fair enough, but I think what Clemson mentioned is valid.

if someone is buying a new Maverick, it's useful to know that you can set the temp by voice. push the assistant button on the right side steering wheel button cluster, and say CLIMATE SET TEMPERATURE 70 (or 65, or 75, or whatever you want). You don't have to look the screen or turn a knob.

of course I agree a physical knob is better in many ways, but using voice is definitely better than hunting through touchscreen menus.

large screen is a win…

I can’t get over the misaligned hood vs the new grill - why would Ford update the hood to match?
Misaligned hood?

I will not agree with that assessment. I believe the knob controls are much easier to work with than a touchscreen. Too many steps using the touchscreen, and it certainly takes your mind off of watching the road.
I see what you're saying about the screen controls taking longer than buttons & knobs, but I do think this is a very minor issue. Seems like most of us agree we tend to set the temperature, fan speed, and vents being used and leave it for the most part.

I for one am looking forward to voice command with the temp controls. Then again, with the icons right there at the bottom of the screen, it might be easier than we think to work the AC on the screen...especially after you get used to it. I'll let you know a month or so after I get my '25 Maverick. :)

My solution is to get the Shadow black and it will hide the weird "U" shaped front.

It always amazes us how many people in much higher end vehicles we see yakking on their phone while driving.
The dealer will sync it for you if that’s a problem, there’s not much excuse for this still happening.

I've been wanting the larger screen so badly for so long, they could have put the front end of a 1974 Volkswagen Thing on it, and I would have bought it. But seriously, I don't see why so many hate the front end of the 2025 Maverick. I actually like it. I think they did pick the best grill of the prototypes I saw.

What do y'all think? Below are the 1974 Thing, 2024 Maverick, and 2025 Maverick.

I drove an early '70s VW Thing all over a Caribbean island for several months back in, well, the early '70s. The rusted out patches added to its, uh, character. Funny how ugly designs can accrue a certain charm over the decades.
That said, I'm happy I'm getting the 2024 Mav.

Didn't they say the same thing on 74 Mustang?

That looks like a forerunner to the Toyota Celica. Maybe it DID grow on people. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Just sayin'...

Misaligned hood?
yeah...in the 24 design, the hood and grill align perfectly - so the grill is a continuation of the hood.
in the 25+ model, it doesn't anymore - Ford redesigned the grill but didn't touch the hood.

I had better take care of my 23. I hate the grill and I hate the lack of physical controls. Bad enough that they are endless spin. I wish I had shelled out a bit extra for the XLT though, maybe.
