I do that except for setting the flow direction. I never use auto. I will try when I am home. Obviously defrost will turn it on, so I'll pick the other two. I genuinely think that it decides for itself if it thinks the humidity is uncomfortable. It will run. Unless setting direction stops it...

Seems like OP and I were the only ones who had this issue. For anyone reading, this was fixed for me in the latest software update when I had the rearview camera update done. It no longer turns on the AC when I had it set to off prior, a large annoyance.

I do not like the dial. However, anything short of a stick with 7 notches and a clutch pedal is nearly equally suck. The ability to select individual gears for towing and fun would be a huge upgrade though.

I can't really understand that. I had a 3500lbs trailer way overloaded. and it easily pulled a grade at 55mph, starting at the bottom from zero, and I was passing cars the whole way. I was not full throttle, it had power to keep accelerating, but I was not going to speed with that load...

I'll take the rock chips. Already got a nasty dent from a semi throwing a rock, 2" above the windshield. Would have certainly cracked the windshield if it hit it. Maybe my 4th dent? One was just from a fat guys belt buckle reaching into the bed. Can't keep it new forever....

Invisible glass is garbage compared to "World's Best Glass Cleaner". That stuff does work and takes off the plastic outgassing from interior glass surfaces.
