I thought this was just my not understanding the correct command to change the default screen. The screens on the hybrid cars I own from another manufacturer can be customized. This is very disappointing.

For the 2025 models…

Is there a way to keep your preferred My View window open in the instrument cluster even after you’ve turned truck off and restarted the vehicle? I don’t like having to bring up the “this trip” or “EV coach” every time I start the vehicle. The infotainment screen seems to save your last used setup. So it seems like the instrument cluster behind wheel should be able to do the same. My previous vehicles have all had this feature. Anybody know?
THIS...and the last-drive-mode also. Have spent the last week, since mine was delivered, trying to figure this out as it is a real pain to have to bring it back up every time I start up.

In my '23 XL, the My View screen is sticky. IOW, it stays on whatever you last selected, when you drive the truck again later.

Hopefully this is a case of sloppy programming in the '25 models and will be fixed in a future update. There were enough nag boxes and screens to OK already, without adding yet another annoyance to these trucks.

Yeah, I agree it's nuts not to have it default to the last, preferred screen. Even though Ford doesn't have a rep here anymore hopefully they still read posts!!

I believe the current one button press is required by the epa. The vehicle must default to the mode it's tested in so that standards are consistent with end users. To create an exaggerated example, lets say eco mode got 10mpg better than normal mode, the epa couldn't count that eco mode unless it was the default the vehicle turns on to.
this is said again and again but isn't true. both my toyota hybrids (rav4 and camry) stick to the last mode chosen, whichever it is.

If Ford applies a software fix for this, I hope they take the opportunity to retain the last 'drive mode' instead of resetting every time the truck is started.

I won't hold my breath because users have complained about that since the truck first came out.
My truck asks me if I want the last drive mode when I start it, but it doesn’t stay up for too long, have to get seat belt fastened to get that off the screen and then choose yes

Mine is a 2022 Lariat hybrid and it has never done that. Care to share the software build number?

Mine is 23188 Product - Sync 3.4

this is a new feature of sync4 found in the MY25 Maverick.

I am 100% certain my Maverick with sync3 does not do it. my Bronco with sync4 does it but the screen is very short-lived, and as others noted if you get any other popup like seatbelt, rear backup sensor blocked, or low fuel you have to acknowledge that other message first and do it quickly enough to then hit OK on the prompt to resume last drive mode.

Sure hope FORD is reading these posts as this is an easy aggravation to fix.

Requiring the driver to fiddle with the display every time they startup is just not a good feature!
They posted a while back that they (Ford) is no longer monitoring this forum.

To add to this question is there a way to at least have something shown on the left by default? Mine always hides everything until when I start the vehicle until i select to show something in the menu.

My wife's 2024 escape defaults to the this trip display and stays on screen long after shutting down and opening a door. I hate having to go through the menu every time I restart to get this trip on the screen and as soon as someone opens a door after shutting down the screen disappears. Hope they fix this soon but I don't think ford can do anything fast.
