Dumb question ⁉ were did you get the weather stripping from?

Not sure I understand why the tailgate would need it?
I have an XLT with a hard roll-up tonneau cover. In a heavy rain or going through the car wash, the rear part of the bed gets wet because there is not a good seal along the back edge of the cover, and there are gaps on the top of the tailgate on each side.

I'd also be interested in what weatherstripping was used here.

Ah- that makes sense if you are trying to cover it

Keep out rain, dust, snow, insects, in short, that’s a big gap back there and if you are using a tonneau and are carrying nice stuff you will need it

Sorry, that’s the weather strip that came with my Gator cover. But I know you can get it from Steele rubber products.

This is a good idea, thank you for showing it. I probably wouldn't have considered this. Even on my current truck with my topper I have leaks everywhere :p

Gotcha. I will mostly be loading camping gear and have no intention of getting a tonneau. I am looking at the soft topper for winter, but doubtful I would ever need to seal up the back. Can I ask what may seem like a silly question from a different perspective? Why not just get an Escape?

Thanks for the idea and post. I'll be doing this as I'll be using the bed a lot for camping equipment that I want to stay dry and clean. Unlike another poster here that doesn't seem to care if his gets all capped up.
