you are correct. the six fin display connector is for 12+ and the 4 pin is for -12 in screens.

i think your going to be hard pressed to find one without nav for the 12+ almost everything has it now. you may be able to turn it off it off in forscan not sure tho.

why no nav?
I much prefer Google Maps/Waze.
Isn't the navigation subscription based, and I didn't think these could be updated as far as the software.

sure - and owning a bronco with factory nav, I completely agree with you.

but it's easy enough to ignore the factory nav and not use it.

Thanks. I was curious if you could disable the tab, but only found this thread with no responses. Of course, this is for a 2025 Maverick, so. It's likely possible for these older apims.

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/can-you-remove-navigation-tab-using-forscan.61251/
yeah - that tab is in my Bronco, and I never use it or have to deal with it.

when you hop in AA or CarPlay starts wirelessly, and you get that interface. I don't use CarPlay, but with AA all you should ever need to do is tap between the 3 pane and single app views.

IMO the only other things you'll need to do with sync4 is adjust climate or connect to a different phone.

Any idea how to overcome this issue? Apim if from a 2024 escape and I have a lariat so had factory nav with sync 3. Would like factory nav to work on sync 4 but seems like it’s all grayed out. It’s following me around on map but I can’t plug any addresses in to navigate to.

Nav is subscription based. So your gonna need to pay. But I'm not sure how that would work

You can continue to view the map or use Android or car play

Knew it was subscription based for live traffic, weather etc. was hoping I could still just use basic navigation as others have been able too with escape apims in lariat trims

I've been considering trying module updates with FDRS (specifically for the sync4 APIM)...anyone have any experience doing that or can point to some step by steps? I read on Cyanlab that there may be a roadblock in getting this to work since the retrofitted module came from a vehicle with different VIN so will result in a congruency issue between vehicle and ford servers, while also not allowing the update...thoughts?

I'm also interested if anyone has insight into this. I still have basic nav routing working on sync4 APIM, and it was just working that way when installed and matched to sync3 settings.

It won't let you do it. It will not show an available update for that VIN.

Harnesses are finally in and 1 more revision to the bracket and I'm hoping to have them shipping by the end of this week! Harness works with both upgrades to 8" sync 4, 12" sync 4, and the 13.2" escape screen. Bracket is only for the 12" transit screen.

So Sam you're saying you're going to have harnesses available for sale that will work with this upgrade for the XLT??? Or is this Lariat it only?
