The mesh part can be removed to "vent" the fender but they are more of a new look then anything.

Mine's a Chamberlain, and I'm sure the instructions said which ones they would program with. I toss that paperwork a while ago. I guess if a Chamberlain universal remote would work with your garage door this one would more than likely work as well.

I used this one and couldn't be happier! Super easy install. I can't ever remember replacing a battery in a garage door opener so I can only imagine this is going to last for quite a few years...
