Yep. Frequently reported.

At work I back out of a parking stall, put it in drive, creep at idle 250 feet, and must stop at an electric gate, and wait for the electric gate to open.

With foot on the brake at the electric gate (15 to 20 seconds) feels like the truck wants to "pounce" through the gate sometimes.
Are you me?! Identical here.

Are you both me?!?! The exact same thing happened to me, except it was past my gate and today I stopped right after the gate at my stop sign, pedestrian was crossing the cross walk, and my truck lurched forward with me fully on the brake. Scared the crap out of me as I don't want to hit pedestrian or traffic on road I was turning on. Have a July 2023 build. Second time this has happened this week. Slamming the brake pedal still seems like it wants to lurch forward.

Is anyone reporting actual movement forward with foot on brake? Or just that "pulsing" feeling?

July 2022, that's 22, for mine.

I don't think it has actually moved but I have felt this stopped on a number of occasions.

Mine shudders a little when the engine is cold, it's never bothered me too much, but my wife says she hates it when it does that lol. It's done it since the day I got it. It's only within the first 5 minutes of moving, any kind of movement from the the temp gauge and it's not going to do it.

It also never did it on hot days. I've always just accepted it as a quirk, kinda like when the engine clunks mildly loudly when it shuts off to run on electric.

Yup, I'd only ever seen this after my truck sat for a while and I stopped at a light within like a block of my start point, it went away as soon as I was driving and warmed up. This morning, Alabama had a cold snap, and I run into about 5 stop lights on the way to work, and it did it at every stop, so yeah, it's apparently a warm up issue, it was below freezing for the first time here since I've had my truck. I can't decide if this is something I should take my truck into my incompetent service department for or not?

Hi there. These surging concerns doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation". I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

Mine still does it. Same behavior pretty much just on the first time I stop when the ICE has started and is warming up. Only once has it actually surged forward while my foot was on the brake. Most of the time it is fairly mild pulsing. I have learned to keep my foot hard on the brake on my first stop once the ICE fires up.

You can ignore the Ford account guy on here when he asks you to DM him. They're just collecting info and then giving a cut/paste generic statement about taking it to your local Ford dealer. Appear to be info gathering, to get ready for another recall or tsb maybe? Clueless.

I did message them in the past and was told that since I was overseas. They couldn't help.

I've just learned to live with it.

Yes, I'm finding to apply some extra braking to keep the ICE twitch in check. Not a huge concern just yet but waiting for the cold to see if it's worse. I haven't felt the vehicle actually move....yet.

The cheapest truck in North America folks, the cheapest truck money can buy.

Gotta keep reminding yourself you paid very little for this thing!

Lowering expectations fixes so many gripes! Try it today!

Hah, this type of mentality needs to go.
This is (or soon will be) a safety concern and is not tied to any "safety" packages that one can opt to buy. Cheap car/truck should not equate to a person worrying about surging when stopped.

I am sure this concern is close to (or is not) meeting some FMVSS requirement....along with the lagging rear view camera which is also part of FMVSS though camera issue is a separate discussion.

It's meeting all MINIMUM requirements.

Refinement is not a requirement.
