I don't use SPORT mode, but the manual says it's "For sporty driving with improved performance handling and response. This mode increases throttle response and provides a sportier steering feel."

My 24 FX4 eco XLT doesn’t have the Sport mode, wish it did. Wife’s Honda has it with the paddle shifters, lots o’ fun!

I have a 24 XLT and steering is light. Since it's electric it may be adjustable. My son had a Mustang that had several settings for various driving conditions. I haven't found that setting in my 544 page owner's manual. That may not exist on the Mav. When all else fails, see the dealer.

I guess I should add that before I bought the maverick my daily drive was my 2002 F250 with a 7.3 diesel. I now only drive the 3/4 ton every 3 weeks or so. It feels like I am riding a hippo after the Maxerick. It never felt that way before. Lol

My Grand Cherokee has the following user adjustments in the vehicle settings for preferred steering stiffness. IDK why this option isn't available setting on all vehicles since it is just software thing.
  • Comfort: This option provides a lower effort steering experience, which can be ideal for those who prefer a softer and more relaxed feel while driving. It requires less physical effort to turn the steering wheel.
  • Normal: The Normal option represents the standard effort steering experience. It offers a balanced feel and is suitable for most driving conditions and preferences. It strikes a good balance between comfort and responsiveness.
  • Sport: If you prefer a higher effort steering experience, the Sport option is the way to go. This setting provides a firmer and more responsive feel, offering enhanced control and feedback for a sportier driving experience.

With lane keeping mode on, I sometimes feel I am fighting the steering as it tends to be closer to the center line than I want. It also pulls at times when there are no lane lines to follow.
My Explorer was the same.
