Nothing wrong with liking the Korean fella. Just don't get fooled with the warranty. It exists because nobody in their right mind would buy one without it. Id you aren't going to be around in 100k miles don't matter. Just Google the SC platform for recalls and fires. Ford knows trucks Hyundai not so much. That's why I stuck with the Maverick. Good luck with your vehicle.
except for reg. mtce. our last Sorrento had 120,000 miles on it when we traded and was in the shop once in 9 years, our current kia soul has never been to the shop in 6 years, so we have had great luck with them, and for the price, my 2019 f-150 was in the shop 5 times in the first year. so im very happy with them, I have had over 30 fords/mercury's/Lincon's over the years,im just sorry thier NO customer service or PR dept. ever kept in touch over the so far 17 month wait for the maverick.we hoped to have one in the driveway by now, now its to be built in middle April, so we may get it in May,well see

Enjoy the SC and please drop a line in this thread now and then to let us know your ownership is going. I had the same experience as FromAway in the post just above, but I had a completely opposite reaction. I find my Maverick to be dull and drab, even in HPR. I parked next to a light blue SC at our grocery store and that SC really popped. I still might trade my Maverick later this year for an equivalent SC SEL AWD.

I'm definitely not in the SC haters club. Lots of things the SC has that I kind of envy going on 5 months and 5,000 miles in my Maverick, from a superior bed material to better tech to far better overall quality. I see a lot of FUD about the SC here, which I just dismiss as children acting out.
I posted this months ago:
I have had 2022:
* Rapid Red First Edition 4k + (Sold at small profit)
* Alto Blue Lariat Lux Hybrid w 2k tow CP and SIBL - fantastic 40 MPG is nice!! (** for sale)
**I also own the Phantom Black 2022 Santa Cruz Limited - my overall favorite!!

NOTE I really do like the Mavericks for "what they are"... the SC wins out with better overall Tech, Safety and comfort; ALL of that at the price of premium co$t difference$.

Also, I do NOT have any issues with the AppleCarPlay interface, which is consistently a problem in the Maverick Hybrid!!

It is all good. Just enjoy what you need from the Maverick. We are enjoying our Santa Cruz's immensely! One of my top 5 purchases in life. Only one cosmetic fault I need to be fixed, in the first year of ownership. Waiting on Hyundai to make it right. Had only the one recall. Transmission reprogramming. It ran great before the recall. Runs even better after. 5.9 to 5.6, 0-60 times now. I just could not get past the unrefined style and materials, inside and out, of the Maverick. The quality was just not there for me. I knew then why it was priced, a little cheeper.

thats why they make something for everyone, my wife is sort of the one talked me into it, she saw one in Dec. and said WOW ,why did you not get one of those.for me I like both.
Ford does not make something for everyone. Will I ever receive Maverick Hybrid? Magic 8 Ball says No.

Hello mrbill, You would be close to your tow limit with the Maverick and Santa Cruz SE. It is 20ft long, almost 8 ft wide and weighs 3,300 empty. ForestRiver does have a lighter model though. Perfect for your Maverick or Santa Cruz SE. Give them a look at: ForestRiver E-Pro or their sister company, Rockwood Geo Pro. The very best to you on finding what works best for your needs.
thanks

As I wait for my 23 Lariat hybrid I'm beginning to look at the Santa Cruz. At first, I didn't like the looks at all but it is growing on me. I'm going to drive one in a couple of days. I know it's more $, but not that much more than my loaded Lariat. I know the fuel economy isn't as good but perhaps the comfort and interior quality, fit, and finish will make up for that. I'm anxious to drive one.

After driving a Santa Cruz I was overwhelmed by the difference between it and the Maverick. The interior quality, fit, finish, technology, and comfort are far superior to the Maverick. It looks and rides like a high-quality vehicle. The Maverick looks like a cheap pickup compared to the Santa Cruz, in my opinion. I'm tired of Ford's treatment of its customers and will be buying a Santa Cruz. If my ordered Maverick hybrid ever comes in I'll post on this board and see who is interested.

so far I really like it, only about 3 weeks now, tried AWD today in rain storm, handles great, love the looks ( but I like both) really like the warranty, it was $28,750 ,I got it at sticker and the wallace dealer fee was $899, not happy with that ,as mullinax ford has no dealer fee.now with our luck I will get a notice from Ford that the maverick is being built !! after 16 months, we are about done with ford, after about 30 plus of them. we shall see.
What’s the warranty?

When it became clear that ordering a Maverick would be a long wait, I looked at SCs. I felt that the money and mileage were just enough worse than the Mav to make it worth while to wait.
that's about where I am..
Like the looks of the SC quite a bit, but that MPG is a killer for me..

I have a Lariat Maverick on order and had never even sat in one until this weekend at the auto show. I will say from sitting in both the SC as well as the Maverick that there is no comparison and the SC feels and looks superior as far as materials as well as fit and finish. I think the multiple lights on the SC up front are cool looking but that tiny little bed is good for groceries and thats about it.

waited 16 months so far for a hybrid base XLT,still on order, 2 weeks ago I got a santa cruz SE with AWD, at sticker ,really like it so far. really like the warranty . has alot more on it than the base xlt, even being the base Santa cruz, I know its hard to compare cant compare mileage w/hybrid but it still should get in middle 20's in rwd. the maverick was my wifes order, but she said she now may keep the kia soul? hard to tell, hard to tell if we ever get it anyway??? at 68 I may be "gone" before they build the maverick!! for now we leave the order in as the dealer said no problem getting back the dep. I would like to have both, but its up to the wife !!! we shall see.
Do not say sorry.
Ford may loss a good customer or more.

This is such a weird sentiment to me.

Ford is producing significantly more Mavericks than Hyundai is building Santa Cruzes. The only reason you can get a Santa Cruz more easily is just because the demand is lower for it.

The Santa Cruz seems like a nice truck, but let's not get this twisted. If Hyundai had to try and crank out as many Santa Cruzes as Ford had to build Mavericks, y'all would be waiting just as long and cursing their name instead
