Solar panel mod for Hybrid Maverick?

Hmmm... Well what seemed to be missing in this thread back from the dead is that a 12 volt solar charger does little to nothing as far as efficiency..
The 12 volt battery runs electronics but doesn't participate in the vehicle's efficiency, as it won't charge the traction battery.
If the vehicle is going to be parked for an extended period, a solar panel in the windshield will keep it charged, but that's about it.

Which is kind of the point, given the 12v battery charging issues with the Maverick Hybrid.

Typically, you'll use it when parked, so why the trouble of an external mount?
If you leave it in a parking lot, an inside panel is a bit more theft resistant.
Most people leave a car unattended at home, so it would work for that.

Using a windshield sunscreen will do as good a job without needing a permanent external mount.

Thus my suggestion.
