On Friday 3/6/26, my father-in-law and I attempted to take a ski trip from the South Denver metro area to Vail Colorado. We left town around 0615 and it started snowing heavily around 0630. By 0650 my ACC front radar was covered and throwing a fault code, typical issue everytime it snows, so not worried.
What I find troublesome and alarming is the way the snow caked itself on the front of my truck. Nearly blocking the entire front grille, headlights and the empty space between grille and "aero" flaps.
Has anyone else experienced this? I did see a few Mav's around town today and they all looked this way.

I too have never had buildup quite like this, but yes I have noticed snow and ice do build up pretty easily on the front of the Maverick. My biggest concern when it happens is it covering the headlights. Otherwise, as long as the radiator is getting flow, then I don't think it's a huge issue.

That "snow" on your grille looks pretty dirty, more like its kicked-up crud from driving way too close to the vehicle in front in reduced traction conditions. In a snowstorm the normal 2-second rule should be extended to at least double that, both for safety and to avoid paint and windshield chips. If you insidt upon driving too close, maybe think about putting on a hood deflector, putting it in slippery mode and getting some tires with serious snow traction.

Thankyou soooo much for your helpful input. Seeing as I was following the 8 second rule whenever possible, slippery mode wasn't necessary and I have the factory Wildpeak A/T3's with 7k on them.

I know right! I've never had any vehicle build-up this bad and I've been driving in Colorado snow since 1999. I guess I now know that I have to keep an eye on this.

I think its because there are a lot of ledges on the front grille area for snow to lock into. Theres enough room for cooling, but the headlights would definitely be very dim lol

That's road dirt snow & salt caked on front.
Increase your following distance and run with headlights on so any heat from those will help keep that area clear.

I don't think the LED headlights produce enough heat to keep themselves clear, like the old halogens or the round sealed lenses did.

This is my 2022 EB in Dec 2025 on I-95 in VA. Video shows the weather, photo shows the "Ice Bra" when I stopped for lunch.
It took 4 days for all of the ice to disappear. No problems noted.
