The 2026 Ford Maverick Tremor is designed for off-road capability and typically comes equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, but
it does not automatically include the 4K Tow Package as standard equipment. It is, however, compatible with the 4K Tow Package, which increases towing capacity from 2,000 lbs to 4,000 lbs, requiring it to be selected as an add-on option." I've been looking for 3 weeks and haven't found one. I've als searched through window stickers, no joy,,,,,,
Because the Tremor can’t have 4K tow. Again the Ford website very clearly states this.

Michelins, 8000 miles, look brand new.
I have Michelin Crossclimate2's which are severe snow service rated, and we just had severe winter conditions (single digit temps and 15" of snow) here that my Maverick handled without any issues. My little compact FWD sedan also handled similar conditions without issue because I had Firestone WinterForce2's on it.

It's your tires, it's always been your tires. More advanced AWD/4WD systems will help you get going, but they DON'T help you stop. All vehicles have 4-wheel braking. If you're fishtailing, you're losing grip and need better tires!

Not in the Tremor. Try and build one yourself off the link you posted. Or look at the Order Guide available here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...rder-guide-released.72930/page-4#post-1284228

My wife's 2022 Malibu Premium is parked right next to my Lariat. It does as well as the Lariat. You all are doing a disservice talking about an AWD performing spectacularly on deep snow. It may be a little better than a car but doesn't compare to a 4WD. One of you showed his Maverick driving on plowed roads as if that is something special. My wife's Malibu can drive a plowed road and holds it's own against the Lariat in my drive way. The Colorados and Tacomas I have owned would humiliate any Maverick with the possible exception of an FX4 or Tremor which I know nothing about at this point. I know of no set of tires that will make an AWD perform like a true 4WD.

Huh? My reply was to your insistence that the Tremor can be ordered with the 4K tow package.

I replied "point taken" elsewhere in this thread. Also pointed out one of many places that says it is available and called it out as a bad rumor.

None of those places were the official Ford website though that clearly says you cannot option a tremor with 4K tow

It's snowing hard, had a out an inch already this morning. I was going to a car part swap meet. None of our roads have been plowed or salted. 24 eb/awd set to "slippery", factory tires with 11k on them. I spun on every corner even at 3 mph. I'm not getting how some in here claim it's so grippy in snow.
You are right. The Maverick leaves a lot to be desired in the snow aspect. The Maverick is a step down from a 4WD. It is more like a car than a bonafide truck like a Tacoma, Colorado, Canyon, on up. I realized this when I bought it to some extent If you really want to haul as_, get a Tremor. If you want to tow, get a 4K-equipped Maverick. If you want to do both, look elsewhere which is what I will have to do. I really don't like this option as I am opposed to what I refer to as 'Big Iron'. Guess you could say I am hard to please. BTW, FYI, my Lariat hauled 1300 pounds of wood Tuesday but still fishtailed coming up the driveway that is a slight uphill grade. Spring is coming.

You have a seriously misguided idea of 4WD.

The Maverick’s standard AWD is quite good. Enganging AWD all the time up to 13mph.

The only thing worse than your tires is how dense you are to the fact they suck ass.

I just dominated 16 inches of snow with my AWD hybrid with 235 Falken Wildpeak AT Trails.

Your cute little Michelins are going to give you the exact performance you’re experiencing.

You want 4 wd performance from an AWD...the closest you will get is if you get a set of more aggressive winter tires that will meet your needs for winter, and your stock set for the other 3 seasons.

Or, go trade it in on a body on frame 4 wd which is bigger and sucks fuel like there is no tomorrow.

You have a good AWD truck...give it the shoes and save some coin in the process. Or not.

Up to you how you solve your problem, good luck with your choice!

Cheers

Andy

I put some Blizzaks on a set of steelies. Total tank in the snow now. Proper tires for conditions make all the difference. Hard to go back to all seasons after you’ve done a winter with dedicated snow tires. All season tires should really be labeled “three season”.
Mechanic told me once “all season tires” means they suck all year round. 🤣

The pics were taken 5 days after the snow storm. Ruts and slide marks still visible. Fedex delivery at foot of drive - He couldn't pull the hill. The weight of 1300 pounds of firewood that I hauled to the house couldn't stop the fishtailing. As the snowstorm was abating (10-12 inches), I took the Mav for a spin. When I got to the highway, I discovered that there was nowhere to turn around. I drove 6 miles before I could see a place to swing back. There was no one one the road but me. When I came in the front door, I told the wife that the little trip was the most fun I had driving in years. Without looking up, she informed me that Indot had declared an emergency. Only emergency equipment and graders were allowed on the roads. A Maverick without a locking differential certainly didn't belong out there but hey, I got away with it.
