Great information, much appreciated! All those years in the Air Force they always told us to trust our First Sergeant! I've finally got some halfway decent weather so I can be outside messing w/ getting things right. I wrote to Custom Auto Works Store to see what they have to say about it.
Cory, here is an old post I did, look at post #26 and a long paragraph but does say how I got those darn marker lights out! Good luck

So let me see if I got this right. You're saying the parking light wire coming off the custom harness adapter does not provide power for a side marker light correct?
That's correct. I sent a note to them to see what they have to say about it.

It was frustrating. Finally had decent weather so I took the one I had completed out and plugged it in. The turn signal worked great, but no marker. I messed and fiddled and messed and fiddled, still no marker. I took the thing back into the shop and got out the Volt/Ohm meter to check continuity. It all worked perfectly. I hooked up a 12vdc power supply and tested; It all worked perfectly. I took it back out to the truck and it was then that I discovered there were only two wires in that feed, not three! Grrr.....

All right thanks for clearing that up. I was just going to wire mine up his blinkers anyway no side marker lights. But I did think about adding 3 raptor style grill led lights and using that wire to feed them power.

But if that wire doesn't have any power going to it then I just may skip the raptor grill lights.

Thank you , and back at you, brother. The offer is reciprocated, should you swing through north central Ohio there will be some Maker's Mark to share. Not too far from Mid Ohio if you are a race fan.

Roger that! Makers Mark burbon! 90 proof, not too "hot" and wheat based which I enjoy more than a rye . I have a bottle on the shelf along with Eagle Rare, Blantons and Buffalo Trace. I do enjoy an occasional pour, an "old fashioned or whiskey sour. Grew up in SW Michigan (until 14) dad would take us to Valparaiso, Indiana couple times a month. They had a half mile DIRT oval and a NHRA drag strip. Very fun days! Wonder how a Maverick would do on a long track oval? Ha!

XL and XLT do have parking lights in the turn signal. Lariats don't even have the wire to the connector.

Might take a bit if a knack to get an AWD to drift.

I grew up in Northern Pennsylvania and as an older teen often went up to Watkins Glen, north of Corning, NY to the races there. Over the years it went downhill but when they got NASCAR to go there in the '90s it got more invested and is now a great facility. Kinna the same w/ Mid Ohio near here. They've got Indy cars, sports cars, motorcycle racing, NASCAR Nextel Cup, and driving schools all summer, great place.

I was able to visit the Maker's Mark distillery several years ago, lots of fun to visit. I'm not much of a drinker but good Bourbon is a real treat. (The day I retired for good I came home and quietly enjoyed a bit of Maker's Mark and a Cuban cigar.)

Nice! This retirement is the best job I've ever had. Same here, a bourbon from time to time, but don't smoke. My good friend would enjoy a good Cuban cigar, loves a cigar when we golf!

Gave up on the cigars. I decided there wasn't anything to gain and wasn't very heavy into them anyway.

I finished things up today for now. When the weather warms up and there's less mud between the driveway and the shop I'll pull out the harness I made and do a Ver 2.0. on it to add a longer wire for the marker lights that'll connect at the marker down by the front bumper. The smoke colored lenses take away some of the brightness of the LEDs but they're still plenty bright enough in my opinion.

I knew the industrial grade doube-side tape was going to be in today so I puled the vents off the fenders. As others have said, it's not difficult; take your time and use one of those plastic pry tools and, if you wish, some pieces of painter's tape between your paint and the pry tool. (One came in the package w/ my mud flaps and was larger and more substantial than the one I had so I used it. Thanx Mabett!). I prepared the plastic pieces for drilling by carefully measuring and marking the spot for the hole so the light would be centered in the hole in the back of the lenses. I didn't have a hole saw as small as 3/4" so I used one of my forstner bits in the drill press. Little pressure and going slow brought very good results. A bit nerve wracking to drill holes in your new vehicle? Yup. It went very well though. Here are the LEDs installed:

About that time the Amazon truck pulled up outside with my double-side tape and tail gate assist kit so I set about inserting the lenses. The tape stuff wasn't difficult to work with and I'm confident they'll stay on.

The installation was not difficult and the vents (or whatever you want to call them) snapped right back into place very easily. I ran the cable up to the back of the headlights but I'm going to wait to zip tie it into place until after I reconstruct it for Ver2.0. For now the turn signals work as they are supposed to. The vid was taken in direct sunlight (about the only direct sun we've had all week!) so they may not appear overly bright but they'll be fine during the day and great at night. This will do it for now but Ver 2.0 will be coming soon.
